Can the Snugride Infant 22 carseat be installed in a car without the base? I can't seem to find the answer on Graco's website. Also, is it approved to be used in an airplane without the base? Thanks!

Yes and Yes. :)

Look in your manual and there should be a section on how to do it. Basically, you thread the lap portion of the belt under the plastic guides on the seat and then pull up on the shoulder part to tighten the lap belt, then lock the shoulder belt. On the plane, you won't have a the shoulder belt, so just pull the lap belt tight.

Yes to both & it's very easy! The only downside is that your DC's legs may be blocked by the seatbelt in the beltpath guides, making it slightly difficult to get him/her in & out without undoing the seatbelt. But super easy to do in a plane!

So, so easy on the plane! My dd was fascinated by the seatbelt, but wasn't able to unbuckle it https://picasaweb.google.com/joolstag/LifesaversVanAndLeahOnPlane#5047497877585932706
