We just got the art easel from Ikea:

In the picture, the red tray is toward the whiteboard. However, when I set it up at home, the red try is toward the blackboard. Is there some trick to it? Or is it supposed to be that way (the picture is wrong).

Mine also has the tray on the chalkboard side. I put the paper over the chalkboard held in place with a clothes pin.

you can remove the tray and put it in the other way.

We keep the tray on the chalkboard side for the chalk.
We put the paper on the dry erase side.
