Thoughts? FWIW- I am not looking to use this, I just saw this posted on my local moms board.

I'll believe it when they get FMVSS 213 labeling all over it, just like every other seat that it would be legal to use in the US. Crash test didn't look bad, I thought, though, so I guess there's hope?
We're getting this one next month, at least that's the plan... sometimes seat releases take longer than anticipated... http://thecarseatlady.blogspot.com/2010/12/bubble-bum-most-innovative-backless.html

Ugh. They call it a car seat when it's really a booster. And where was that picture taken? What kind of car is it? Where's the lap portion of the seat belt??? Something just doesn't look right. And then also, I can imagine the car seat -- ahem, booster -- rolling out from under my child's bum. I'm such a killjoy, huh?

Carseatlady's now working on a big blog about all inflatables, I'll post it when I see it....

One of the videos I saw a link to at carseat.org didn't look so good in term of submarining:

Afterwards the lap belt looks to be sitting at the belly button, if not higher. I'd have to look at other booster test vids to be sure, but it doesn't seem like a booster performing well.

The Bubblebum has those little belt clips to hold the lap belt down - don't see anything like that on this one, unless you count the buckles that hold it together - and they seem placed pretty high up. Yep, watched the vid again and they route the belts through there.

I would like a Bubblebum but I'm waiting 'til I hear from techs who get one and evaluate it. This other inflatable worries me. I'm curious to hear what carseatlady says on the whole issue.

Probably like other booster seats - some are good, some are bad, and some are downright dangerous.
