Selling City Mini - Price?

I love my City Mini single, but when I bought it, I really didn't like any of the color options, so I bought the green. Now I want a purple! Rather than pay $110+ for a new cover/canopy, I think I am going to try to sell mine and get a new one.

So how much would you list it for on CL? It's a 2009, so a little less than 2 years old. It's in pretty good shape, but has an average amount of wear I'd say - I need to pull the entire cover off and give it a good wash.

So assuming people are probably going to offer less than it's listed for, what price should I start at?

I have my 2010 with belly bar listed at $200 and I am hoping to get $175 for it. I have someone interest and I may even go as low as $150 for it. You can get a new 2010 for $200 right now just as an FYI. There is a 2 yr old on my craigslist for $175.

Good Luck. I am sad to see mine go, but at the same time I has spent well over a month in my garage while I haul around the larger stroller with much better suspension.

Probably depends on your locale too. I saw a 2010 listed @ 150 here and took all my willpower to not get it. It was black and I already have a 'slate' topaz which looks black.

Like pp s said - depends on your cl. The 2009 has the smaller basket and doesn't have the seat upgrades. If you want to sell it quickly I'd list at $15o and sell it in a day. You could try higher if you think it is in demand on your cl or can get more. You can try $165 or $175 first... but I've seen 2010s new for that. But your buyers may not be as bargain savvy as we are. It really depends on your cl and your time frame...

I actually listed it last night for $200 - ridiculous, I know, but my experience with our CL is that people come to see something and then lowball you on the price, so I'm giving myself a lot of wiggle room. I've already had 2 people email me about it, but we'll see if they're really interested. I'd be really happy to get $150.

I didn't realize the 2010 are going for $200 and I also didn't know about the seat upgrades from the 2009. What do the 2011's have that they older models don't?

The 2011's have a firmer seat back and also 'upright straps' which are velcro straps that will let you raise the seat back about another inch or so up higher

Also not positive on this, but the basket might be different

In 2010 they made the basket bigger. For 2011, they added a PE board in the seatback, and an upright strap for the seat to make it more supportive.

Wow. This thread is really making me want to update my 2008 BJCM, especially if I could get a deal on a 2011. My only complaint is the seat issue, which has been addressed in large part. I would appreciate any guidance on getting a good price on a 2011! :)
