LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table is a big, big hit with DS.
Any toy with the word "activity walker" (not a walker, a push toy)
Exersaucers are also fun.

Thanks, I wasn't specific- sorry! I actually am looking for smaller toys, for the hand and mouth. I have a walker that my DS used from when he was about a year old and my DD now seems way too tiny for it (she's not even 12 lbs!) And we have a Jumperoo that she likes for short periods of time.
I need more portable toys.
Thanks!

The Lamaze toys are great. Also, DD loved this at that age: http://www.amazon.com/Neurosmith-3464207-Sunshine-Symphony/dp/B000A40VY6

Crib mirrors and textured balls are great too.

ETA: For both hand and mouth you can't go wrong with these, plus they are extra ahdny to attach things to the car seat, stroller, high chair, etc:

Baby Einstein Piano - it was a HUGE hit when DS was around that age. And every now and again, he goes for it off the shelf. There was a similar thread a couple of weeks ago maybe.... someone looking for toys for their 6 month old...

Thanks everyone for the ideas I may get one or two of them.
I looked for the other thread, but couldn't find it... Thanks anyhow.
If there are any other suggestions- I'm still listening!

The Winkel by Manhattan Baby is a great early toy! Light weight and easy for babies to grab. Mine loved it!

My son is also 5 months old...he loves the Leap Frog My Pal Scout which you can personalize with your DD's name, fave color, etc...definitely a toy she will grow into:

http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-19156-My-Pal-Scout/dp/B001W30D2O

He also likes the Manhattan Toy Skwish:

I recently got him these Haba soft blocks, which he likes looking at and knocking over. He can also hold them for a brief period of time when I hand him the individual blocks. They have different textures, sounds, etc.

This Sassy suction toy is neat if you are using a Bumbo seat + play tray. Though, you can also take the base off and simply hang it from a play gym

These are great toys- thanks for the ideas! I love the my pal scout- but a bit above my budget right now because I'd have to get one for my 2 year old too!
Now I just have to choose- I want them all! :p

DD2 got her Sophie giraffe at Christmas when she was six months old and it has been a daily staple for her. We also have a baby Whozit that DD1 loved as a baby and DD2 is absolutely in love with now. http://www.manhattantoy.com/product/206644/201220/_/Whoozit_Baby_Whoozit
I love the Manhattan toy company in general!

DD2 also has this book and loves it
