Now, that is some great news!! Tacking on airfare to a cruise has always been a deal breaker so I love when they sail out of a northern city like NY or Baltimore!

Oh dear. This is going to be dangerous at some point! They must haul it down to FL and back up!

They have Seattle too.

Love the idea of the weekend getaway option!

Would you leave your car at the port all week? Is that safe?

In ny? I would take a car service. I wonder though if they are leaving out of the west side, red hook or even bayonne?

Well, I'm now booked on one of these cruises out of NYC, but it is almost the most expensive cruise I have booked currently!

There are extensive threads on the disboards summarizing the new pricing so I won't repost them here, but I thought I'd share what we were looking at.

On Thursday, I booked the 7/8/12 5nt cruise from NYC to Canada for my family of 4 (2A/2C). At the next to lowest oceanview room category (9C), we paid $3660, which included a 10% or so discount off of the published fare of $4035. We also booked the 7/13/12 2nt NYC cruise to nowhere that followed it for $2140, making the total cost for 7nts $5800.

Today, when the online bookings opened and I could more easily compare pricing than over the phone, I found that the 8nt cruise from NYC was a better bargain, so we switched. Still same 9C category room but we ended up paying $5894 for 8nts versus the $5800 for the 5+2=7nts (with one day being spent in port in NYC between cruises.) We also get more days at sea, a day at WDW with Park Hopper admission, and no repeats on menus and entertainment (versus the back to back cruise). Had I moved to the August sailing I could have saved even more.

For comparison purposes, this is only $100 less that the verandah room I have booked for the spring break 2012 Maiden Voyage cruise of the new Disney Fantasy (which generally have inflated prices.) Granted, we booked that MV cruise back in mid january, and prices have risen over $3,000 since we booked (our $5995 room is now about $9k)
