Which do you prefer? Coke or Pepsi?

Melaine

Dr. Pepper.

Really, though I think I prefer Coke over Pepsi, but Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke.

Coke, hands down....but alas, these days it's all caffeine free for me!

I hate Pepsi.

On a side note, there was a student named Pepsi at a school I worked at.

Nowadays, I rarely drink soda at all, but...

Coke. And in this order....

1) Properly prepared fountain Coke. If ratio is off, this drops to bottom of list.
2) Glass bottle - you can get them some places and for special occasions.
3) Can of Coke, but only if I can and am able to drink in one sitting.
3) Plastic screw cap bottle.
4) 2 ltr, poured over ice.

Caffeine free is an acceptable alternative (I used it while nursing). Diet Coke is never acceptable. Cherry Coke is a fun splurge, but I cut it with regular Coke to manage the sweetness.

I'm not a huge soda drinker. If anything, I prefer Sprite. If I had to choose, I'd pick Diet Coke though because I find Pepsi too sweet.

Wow. Coke is really in the lead. I won't touch the stuff. Ever since the 1980's Coke-Pepsi wars, I am an avowed Pepsi person. It's amazing what you latch onto at 12. :)

Oh, but my Pepsi must come from a can. I don't know why but Pepsi from the bottle is not as good.

Coke. I saw a chart once where it mapped out preferences and I remember it showing people from the South liked Pepsi better in general, not sure if that still holds.

The same chart had an explanation of what people call fountain drinks throughout the U.S. Some called it soda, some called it pop, one region called all drinks coke if I remember right and then they specified if it was sprite or something like that. I'll try to find the chart again.

This wasn't the chart I saw but it's the same data. The South seems to have a tendency to call all carbonated drinks "coke".

If I had to choose it would be fountain Pepsi. But, I'm not too particular btw the 2. I only really like either in fountain drink form.

DIET Coke. And ONLY Diet Coke. Not Pepsi of any sort, not regular Coke.

If I can find it, Diet Coke with Lime or Lemon. ;)

I don't drink soda very often. I've switched to sparkling water (we have a Sodastream at home). Saves a lot of calories. I hate the taste of diet soda so I won't touch the stuff. I can't drink caffeine either. So if I drink soda I like caffeine-free regular Coke. Mug root beer (Barq has caffeine) or ginger ale are other acceptable choices for me.

I bet you can't guess how I voted.

Seriously? Could you be less obtuse? How vague an answer is this? I don't understand. Just answer the question. You're going to make us GUESS?????? Could you give us some sort of CLUE? How about a hint? Maybe a visual?????

Geez....you are so mysterious.

BTW....Tootsie? A) now I need a Tootsie roll. and B) what movie was it where someone says "tootsie" but they pronounce it "TOOT-sie"...is it maybe a Robin Williams line? I can HEAR it but I can't quite remember where it is from and it is making me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Coke over Pepsi, but Caffeine-free Pepsi over Caffeine-free Coke (for pregnancy/bf'ing). I don't do diets. I prefer fountain drinks, but at home it has to be in a plastic cup with ice. :)

I am not a huge soda drinker anymore. I voted Tootsie. I used to prefer Coke to Pepsi but then I got braces and I couldn't drink regular sugar soda for over 2 yrs. I then got used to Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi and preferred Diet Coke from a can, but Diet Pepsi from the soda fountain tastes better. I couldn't drink regular Coke again after braces. Right now if I have a soda at all it's usually an occaisional Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi at a work function, at home I will have a Pepsi Throwback. I do like Mexican Coke with regular sugar, but it's only sold in bottles here so Pepsi Throwback is a better deal.

I am also not sure if I should openly admit this, but I loved Crystal Pepsi back in high school. Dr. Pepper in the bottle is the best though, but very hard to find and it's made in really limited batches by the original bottler, not the current 7Up bottler.

OK, am I the only one who is shocked by the results of this poll? I seriously didn't realize that Coke was *that* much more popular than Pepsi. I was just telling DH about this, and he thinks that if the poll had separate choices for coke, diet coke, pepsi, and diet pepsi, that would make a big difference.

We don't buy soda here but I have a hard time resisting Coke in a can cold from the fridge. My favorite is Barg's though. I don't like Pepsi.

The typical exchange is a variation of:
"Would you like a coke?"
"Yes, please."
"What kind - we have coke, diet coke, sprite and rootbeer." :D

Really, though I think I prefer Coke over Pepsi, but Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke.

:yeahthat:

But I honestly don't drink any of them anymore. 2 cups of coffee in the morning and water or seltzer any other time. I gave up soda a long time ago although I admit to having one every now and then (at McDonald's :bag or the movie theatre).

Die hard Diet Pepsi fanatic.

After that, it's Sprite Zero, Cherry Coke Zero, Diet A&W Rootbeer and Diet Mountain Dew. Diet Coke is so far down the list it's not even funny.

coke. occasionally, cherry coke. what is mexican coke? and, where my parents are from, all colas are called coke!

Mexican Coke is Coke that is made with regular all natural sugar vs. high fructose corn syrup, and it's still bottled in Mexico. It is sold in 10 or 12 oz. bottles I think, and when Costco carried it it was $20 for 36 bottles I think so not cheap, but nice for a party. Pretty much any drink tastes better from a glass bottle. You can also get Kosher Coke during Passover (reminds me I need to look and see if they have this near me again so we can have it at the girls' birthday party next weekend), which is also made with sugar, but not sure of the price.

Coke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have loved Classic Coke forever. I used to drink a 6 pak of reg. a day...now it's probably 3 Coke Zero's.

I also collect old/antique Coke *stuff*, although I'm getting tired of it. I started packing some of the collection away. I will probably never part with a few of the things but the rest may go via Ebay sometime!

As a Coke fanatic, WHY can't they bottle the good 'ol stuff, in the glass bottles in the USA? Just drives me nuts!!!

I got my oldest daughter one of those a few years ago and since she has only had the HFCS kind she was like "Yuk!! What is IN this?", sigh!

I voted Coke, but really my first choice is Coke Zero. Never, ever, real Pepsi, though I will occasionally drink Diet Pepsi, if Pepsi products are the only option.

For those that were commenting on the Coke made with real sugar, you need to come to Canada - Coke here is made with sugar, too. :cheerleader1:

Coke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pepsi tastes like liquid sugar to me. Coke has a nice bite.

when it comes to diet, I can only stomach Diet Dr. Pepper.

My favorite is also fountain coke, but followed by the 20oz plastic bottle. Then comes can, then 2ltr over ice.

In the summer , we still go to DH's old arcade and get frozen cokes!

Coke.

When I grew up in Israel there was no Pepsi, only Coke, because the company who makes Pepsi participated in the Arab Boycott of Israel:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boycotts_of_Israel

So:
A. My taste was set, and
B. I see no reason what so ever to even try to change it :wink2:
