Keep or Toss?

I rarely wear makeup, but may have occasion to this weekend. The last time I bought some was last August to be in a friend's wedding. I still have it. Foundation and Mascara. Toss it or is it safe to wear?

I know they say replace mascara every 3m but I never do. Nothing horrible has happened. I'd be fine with the foundation too.

I've worn stuff I've had around for a lot longer than that with no issues.

I'd do the smell test on the foundation.

I just threw away the foundation from my wedding about 4-5 months ago.

This May is our 16th anniversary.

I don't wear make-up often (obviously!), and I didn't want to keep buying new to wear only once.

I wonder what the shelf life is on mineral foundation vs liquid or mousse type? It seems like it should last longer and I switched to that a while back. Might be a good idea to buy some if it turns out to be better than the traditional stuff if you aren't going to use it often.

I'd keep it unless it just looks/smells funky! I keep my makeup for at least a year.

It goes against the industry recommendations (but they do have an interest in getting you to replace often), but I would keep what you have. It is not even that old IMO.... :bag.

I replace anything that looks or smells weird. I replace eye stuff a little more than the other things (don't want an eye infection), but we are still talking about every couple of years.
