Care to share your's and your child's experiences with initial testing/diagnosis, acceptance of the dianosis, and how it's going now?

I have DM2, as does my whole birth family, so I was aware and testing before I was ever diagnosed, and diagnosis was quick and easy for me.

I just tested DD's blood sugar on a whim. She's had some increased accidents this weekend, is peeing a lot, would drink forever if allowed, and has been increasingly snappy/brain-dead if a meal is delayed for whatever reason. So 3 hours after a meal, she's at 147. Her meal 3 hours ago (or so), was a cheese burger, mandrin oranges, and a chocolate milk. Not the most healthy, but not something that should have her glucose so high 3 hours later, either. Her paternal grandmother was DM1, diagnosed at about DD's age.

So, I'm calling tomorrow and getting her in ASAP to see what they have to say. Really just interested in hearing from anyone else that has been down this road with their kiddo.
