My kids wear crocs and I'm in the market for some comfy NOT open toe shoes to wear with my sexy compression stockings, mainly under my new maternity maxi dresses! I'll be prego all summer long and I have ONLY open toe shoes. My budget is tiny. I don't love the look of the crocs clogs but these have a different look.

I'd love your honest opinion!

TIA

There are several styles on here--all within my budget. I'm going for black as that is the most versatile. What do you think?

Edit: I think I like the Kadee but I also like the Olivia in black.

Well I wear whatever is comfortable, especially when pregnant...so yes.
The Olivia is cute in black and I like the crocband flat in black. The Kadee is just ok IMO.

I have the Olivia but in some neon coral color that was on sale. They are cute but my feet sweat too much in them (but I wear without socks so you might be ok) and the color is just not me.

In the end I agree with PP - you're pregnant wear whatever makes you comfortable.

I would think that the crocs will make your feet HOT b/c of the material, but I don't know whether the compression socks changes the equation. I agree that whatever makes you comfortable is what counts, but when you're pregnant, it's nice to think that you can be comfortable AND just a little bit stylish at the same time. Why not get cute/cheap flats from Target? They have TONS to choose from http://www.target.com/Flats-Womens-Shoes/b/ref=sc_iw_r_3_0_1041816?node=3429561
Or... less cute, but easier to slip on and comfy--a slip-on style athletic shoe like this http://www.target.com/Merona-Mahogany-Athleisure-Mule-Shoes/dp/B002Q16BS6/ref=br_1_30?ie=UTF8&id=Merona%20Mahogany%20Athleisure%20Mule%20Shoes&node=1244953011&searchSize=30&searchView=grid3&searchPage=1&sr=1-30&qid=1303170509&rh=&searchBinNameList=target_com_category-bin%2Cstyle_name%2Ctarget_com_shoe_size-bin%2Clifestyle-bin%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1
I had my first in August. A pair of slip-on keds with memory foam soles were all I could wear in those last 2 weeks. :)

Hmm. Hot feet doesn't sound appealing. My thing is that my feet are going to be hot thanks to the glorious hot summers and to my compression stockings. Will the shoes make a difference? I really don't know!

Funny that everyone is trending Olivia. I'm really leaning towards Kadee. I'm going to try to check them out at the outlet store.

My problem with traditional flats is comfort. I actually DID buy a pair of Vera Wang flats from Kohls and they are very stiff and uncomfortable! I haven't honestly even considered wearing them with any of my summer stuff.

I think I'll poke around in the outlet mall this weekend and see what I can find!

Thanks, all!

I would probably wear any of those that are comfy. I like Crocs Alice style.

:yeahthat: Those shoes don't look comfortable or cute to me. But if you try them on and they're comfy, keep them. :) I don't envy you wearing compression stockings in summer.

Any recommendations on closed toe shoes that WOULDN'T be hot?

For reference, I really love my Merrell Gardena thongs and wear them all the time. I like both the style and the support. I have no experience with crocs. I like the price and had heard about the comfort but I'm not really sure about either.

I'm afraid the compression stockings will be mandatory. I got a touch of edema ALREADY at WDW and I'm only at 18 weeks. Plus, varicose veins run in the family...

I wear these shoes http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=233801&CategoryID=27902#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D534 often in spring and fall. They are super comfy and very breathable so my feet never get hot. Might be another option to consider.

I wore fugly red Clark's velcro strap sandals with my compression hose. Not very attractive, but they were amazingly comfortable. I even wore them with shorts at home :bag

I'm sorry, I just have to :rotflmao: at this description.
You gotta do what you gotta do. No one will see your compression hose under the maxi dresses, hehehe. DD actually had a pair that were very similar to the Alice work ones. If they didn't fit perfectly, they were kind of slip-slidey on her. I think it's ok, but I don't wear crocs. I do wear birks though (preggo or not), and love them.

I am preggo all summer too and have been wearing malindi and alice. I think they look decent with maxis.

I've never worn crocs so I can't comment on comfort or breathability. I'm a big believer in function over fashion when preggo. But, what about any of these?

I had a pair of Crocs slingback flats 2 summers ago and just got rid of them because they're far too narrow for me to wear comfortably.

I do like the "just hose 'em off" option of the "Crocsolite" material, though. Darn shame they run narrow, IMO.

Look at Skechers Sassie Fanfare, I have a pair in black and they are super comfy and have more support than Crocs.

I think if you have to wear socks these would be fine.

Ugh. I don't know what to do or buy. I'm headed to our outlet mall tomorrow to try on shoes. I gotta find a good pair on the first try because I really don't have the budget to buy a pair that I won't wear! We have great outlet stores that have sketchers, crocs, and several other designer and sport stores.

Wish me luck!!

I think they would make my feet hot too. I saw a pair of this type of Crocs at Marshall's this week. Maybe you can include them in your shopping trip. Good luck!
