Quinoa?

Does your toddler like Quinoa and is it easy to prepare? Also, where is it located in grocery stores typically?

DD 14 months loves it. It is very easy to prepare, takes about 15 minutes. I generally make it as a warm salad or pilaf with veggies and nuts, sometimes dried fruit. I also like it cold. DD will eat it either way.

It should be with the other grains in your store, so look in the rice, couscous aisle. I buy it in a big bag at Costco.

Usually located with grains. I just bought the big bag of organic quinoa from Costco as PP did.

Son loves it and it's a great source of protein. We use it as a substitute for rice to change things up. It's usually in the grain rice section or organic/health food section.

I also buy it @ Costco, but my grocery store also has it in a bulk bin (so does Whole Foods) for a good price. That way you can try it and see if your family likes it. We use it in place of rice.

We love it as a family :) Very easy, like rice to prepare. I use it to replace cooked rice in recipes for everything from salads to casseroles.

We love it as well. It was ond of dd2's first foods. I get my friend to buy at Costco for me as well. Be forwarned though its a TOTAL PIA to cleanup when baby spreads it around. It just goes everywhere.

I've decided teh easiest way to deal is to call in the dogs and then look the other way until morning. When its dry, it just vaccumes up.

My DD is getting used to it. I first gave it to her at 8 months old (currently she is 10 mos) and I think the texture surprised her. It is growing on her though :) I buy the organic from Costco.

DD likes it with her dinner. She is just 17 months but she has had it for a few months already. it is usually with the rice in the food store.
