The last time I tried using my Magic Bullet to make a smoothie for my daughter, I ended up with shavings of thick places of plastic right into it. (I'm glad the smoothie was light-colored, or I may not have noticed.) Has anyone any experience with their CS? Or should I just throw it out and buy a big-girl blender? I hate the damn thing so much anyway.

We just use our $15 Hamilton Beach blender.

How much plastic is in it? After seeing those plastic shavings in DD's smoothie, I'm now freaking out.

I guess it's all plastic, except for the blades. But we've never had a problem with shavings or anything.

we have the black & decker blender. I think we bought it for less than $20 at Target. It's made out of glass w/ a stainless steel blade in the center. There's a sturdy plastic piece that holds the blade at the bottom of the blender. We've had it for about five years and it works well for making smoothies and baby food.

Yes, I think I'll go with either that Black and Decker or the Oster model (about $25 at our Target), both with a glass jar, and just forget about the stupid Bullet.
