Storage for on stairs

An odd need. I have a short flight of stairs -- 5 steps -- that lead to nowhere (they are part of a strange remodel that was done). Does anyone know of a storage unit that can go on stairs or that would work on steps?

I don't know of a storage unit, but DH's grandmother used her back staircase as bookshelves...

The only storage I can think of on stairs would be baskets on the stairs. Or maybe doing a single Ikea Expedite shelf on each of the stairs, laddering up the stairs. Maybe others will have more creative ideas.

How about individual racks for CDs or DVDs? one on each stair. The tall skinny kind but you would lay them flat.

Hmm...if it truly goes no where...how about building something to bring the floor up to flat and putting a bookcase or whatever on it?

Drool! That is brilliant. Almost makes me want to have stairs to nowhere just so I can custom order those shelves. ;)
