Y'all, I have thick ankles. Ankle straps + my ankles = BAD IDEA. But everyone posts comfy sandals with ankle straps! Either they have ankle straps, or they have straps that go across the foot so high, they may as well have ankle straps.

SO, anyone have any ideas about comfy summer shoes WITHOUT ankle straps? :)

I have the same problem (oh, what I would give for thin ankles), and I've been considering these:

I have short legs and also tend to shy away from ankle straps. I've had some cute sandals by Naot that don't have them.

I have ones similar to these...in black...now I want these in red

I do find most "comfort" sandals that do not have ankle straps do seem to have straps that do come up a bit higher on the foot. I guess it does help keep them on better.

I second ilfaith's recommendation for the Naots. I have the first one in a platinum type of leather. These are so comfortable. And I can't do ankle straps either.
