With DC1 we didn't know he was a boy until birth. With DC2 we know he will be a boy. DS1 wore unisex sleepers in the hospital but I really want something new and boy for DS2. I want soft light blue sleepers. Stripes or a small pattern would be okay. I do not want a full on sport theme....monkeys....blue bunnies?....just something understated and blue.

I am so frustrated that I can't find anything I like. I did find one sleeper at BuyBuyBaby but it was $34 and that seemed like a little much for a sleeper with blue polka dots.

Anybody seeing any boy stuff they like?

Boys get the short end of the stick when it comes to clothes, IMO.

what about this:

OK, it's $19 on sale, but it's cute, no?

Yeah that, don't get me started on the lack of cute boys clothes. My boy has always worn gender neutral or the cutest boy's items I could find--no sports themes, no transportation vehicles, no camo. I'm also avoiding polos and khakis for as long as possible. I want my baby to look like a baby!

Can you post a link to the sleeper (or other items you like)? I might be able to add some ideas if I see what styles you like.

Not sure if there is an H&M near you, but I was there recently looking for my dd and I remember saying that I really liked their boy stuff better than the girl items.
I didn't look to closely at the boys clothes, but most everything I saw I liked.

Baby Gap has a lot of cute things. They are kind of pricey now but they have sales pretty often.

I love Kissy Kissy or Little Me or Petit Lem for cute boy clothes.

I like this sleeper but am waiting to buy it in person because people are complaining about the feet being small.

DS1 pretty much has an all Gymboree wardrobe, but I really don't like their newborn stuff. It's too cutesy and pastel.

I like all of these. Luckily I am not due until September so I can hopefully catch them on sale.

Janie & Jack has really cute layette items. They are expensive, but maybe you will be able to get some on good sales.

Hanna zippers? They are my fav for newborns, organic, and zipper which is much easier than all those snaps. Call the outlets for better prices.

I will admit to buying the entire line of BabyGap layette pieces for both DS and DD. They are just baby-perfect if you ask me :) And so soft.

They go on sale quite often.

HA had the sweetest little light blue patterned sleepers on sale recently for $5...you should give the outlets a call and see if they have any left!

Would something like this work? We used something similar and the zippers were really useful for middle of the night diaper changes. They aren't Hanna quality but seemed much better than Carter's and ON and the animal details are more subtle.

I have the same problem. DD has a plethora of cute/non-themed clothes to wear, and now that we're having a boy (also in Sept.), I am having a hard time finding baby-appropriate clothing.
BabyGap has some cute stuff but a lot of their stuff has skulls this season. I am not into that.
One of the surprising places I found very nice and ORGANIC cotton baby clothing was Walmart. I bought lots of onesies and pants from Faded Glory--their brand that makes organic clothing. They were mostly in stripes, solids, and some very basic patterns.
Alas, I couldn't find any sleepers. I might use the HA sleepers but I'd prefer ones with feet attached for the newborn phase.

+1 for Gap. You are better off with a coupon code sometimes then waiting for a sale. And the feet are really small on that one piece. I used it anyway and it worked out ok.

I feel your pain, I've got 3 boys and am just so blah about boy clothes, it's depressing. If you have to spend a little bit more to get what you like do it. I found that it helped me to just get what I liked, since I was so bummed that I was again having another boy. Janie and Jack has cute stuff, GAP, Gymbo, even some of the stuff at Macy's/JCP are cute. Kohl's has a line called, "Jumping beans" that is cute too and surprisingly, I like some of Target's stuff. The Paul Frank on little boys is sooo cute! Don't know if you are into monkeys or not, the completely suit my boys' personalities.

:yeahthat: except last year was an off year so DD2 didn't get anything new from Baby Gap. I was gifted a few really great pieces of Baby Gap layette from DD1 and I was able to use them through two girls and they will be passed on to more children.

I always liked the Vitamins line but they're really hard to google!

I really love boy clothes but I do like less themey stuff on my newborns. For colorful I adore Zutano. DS3 wore a lot of the Itsy Bitsy line because he was a smaller baby than the other 2. For plain blue stuff...gap, Hanna, Nextdirect.com. Kissy Kissy layette has some very subtle stars and moons and similar prints. Check the unisex lines at Gymbo and Janie and Jack. Janie and Jack signature layette is very basic and sweet. I do mostly Carters or Hanna for sleepers. Hanna had a lot of zippers at Costco this year in size 50.

But I have embraced the boy themes b/c you know what? My boys really do like them and if they like them, they are adorable in them :)

And congrats! There is really nothing quite like brothers :) It will melt your heart.

My mom got me some BEAUTIFUL Ralph Lauren layette type stuff for DS at our local dept. store (called Belks). Also, Kissy Kissy is classy and very soft :)
