I want a pool about 4 ft deep that we could all paddle around in, but that would be taken down after a day or two. I don't want an above ground pool that needs chlorine and a pump. We have a pretty flat backyard slab to put it on. Anyone heard of such a thing?

4 feet deep would be a TON of water to fill up and then take down after a few days. We bought this last summer http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=above+ground+pool&hl=en&rlz=1C1LAVG_enUS428US428&prmd=ivns&resnum=2&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1024&bih=653&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=2633034499163621134&sa=X&ei=3OTFTdnGFcnZ0QGq2YWCCA&ved=0CIwBEPMCMAA#
and it took forever to fill. We ended up having to return it because it wouldn't straighten up but the yard looked flooded when we emptied it. It really wouldn't have time to warm up either. We replaced it with this http://www.njpoolstore.com/Swim_Center_Family_Pool_p/itx-58484.htm?click=71 It wasn't nearly as deep but DH and I could get it it too and it was fun. Much easier to take down and faster to fill.

Careful with those inflatable pools, regular pool laws still apply (at least around here). No fence = it's illegal and you could be fined and made to remove it immediately.

We have the first one you linked to. This is our second year to have this model (we've had similar, smaller versions when DS was younger.) It takes about a day or so to fill up, but we keep it up from the end of April until the beginning of October. It's not something that you would put up for just a weekend.

Did having the pool up all summer ruin the grass under it? We rent so I would not want to ruin someone's grass but that kind of pool looks simple and fun (and cheap!) for DD to practice her swimming!

My guess is that it would ruin the grass if you had the pool up as long as we do. In the past we have overseeded with winter rye in October, so we did have winter grass. We put the pool up as the winter grass season is just ending.

I would go with one of these

You wouldn't be able to move around too much (kids would love it though) but this might work for you too

We have this one only it's a square shape, but it's made by the same company. It's big and deep enough that we can get into and sit in it. Our DDs love to play in it and pretend that they are swimming. It's not 4 ft deep though.

My DH would set it up in the mornings and our DDs would play in it the better part of the day. Afterwards, we drained the pool at night and then set it up again for next weekend. Yes, you will use more water that way, but it lasted through last summer and we're getting ready to bring it out again for this summer.

We bought ours at Target for $25 or so. Worth every cent because our DDs had a blast.

Just an FYI -- if you have raccoons in your area, they LOVE these kind of pools and their sharp paws/claws pierce the sides. Ask me how I know.

Stupid raccoons.

We have had the one that is 120 inches long, it's fine for the kids to play in, and I sit in it on hot hot days. We have super large deck and keep it on there. I bought a cover so I can keep water in it for about 10 days (I dump some Clorox in about 5 days in).

MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE WITH A PLUG AT THE BOTTOM...or else it is a huge pain to empty the water.

They take a lot of water and it takes time for the water to warm up, so that's why we got a cover.
