This was the "mommy confessions to feel guilty about" post from 2 days ago (eta: and no one commented on it):

I Favor My Older Child
"I favor my 8-year-old over my 6-year-old. My 8-year-old is much easier to deal with, while my 6-year-old throws constant tantrums. Even though I feel that way, they get treated equally. I think a lot of mothers secretly favor one child over the other, either because one is easier to deal with, sweeter, smarter, cuter, whatever the reason. You can't help what you feel inside."

I think it is quite possible that the woman above loves her children equally, but favors the older because, as she said, s/he is easier to deal with. But, I think she is deluding herself that she is treating them equally. From reading grandparent threads here, I think kids pick up on the favoritism even if they get the same amount of "stuff".

That said, is this true? Does anyone consistently favor one chold over another? Anyone feel more love for one child more than another? (Of course this comes from someone with an only, but inquiring minds want to know ;) )

You're right, total duplicate thread! Not sure how I missed that. I too had no idea we had someone among us with 16 kids (the OP). I thought Jera was our biggest fam with 5!
