I have a 22 lb toddler and I need to get him a life vest/boating vest, but I've read that some are uncomfortable so I'm looking for positive recommendations. On amazon, I mostly saw, "this one is uncomfortable but works." My toddler is so picky anyway about clothes, so I'd like to get him the most comfortable one I can find.

Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm not sure any of them will be comfortable, really. My kids weren't bothered much, but they didn't really look comfy either. We use a bright orange heads-up vest for boating. It's big, bulky, and bright :).

DD and DS had one of these each for last summer and wore them happily:

I don't think any life vests are particularly comfortable, but I think the best bet is a neoprene one. We have two like this for DS and DD
that we got at Costco for around $20.

We had the best luck with an LL Bean one. The Target (speedo, I think) one was bulkier and less comfortable. The LL Bean one has been great. We used it almost daily at our local pool.

it was worth the $ to me:
