Sand Table, when to introduce it

How old do they have to be?

Old enough to stand at the table and not eat the sand? My 2yo does fine with it. She was fine with it at 18 months, too. I had to watch her more at 18 months b/c she would put a lot of the sand outside of the table, but that can happen at any age. I know some of the 4yos in my older daughter's preschool class used to have issues with that.

Old enough to stand at the table. If they eat sand, don't put sand in it yet. Best investment in a toy EVER. Any toy can be used in this. Hours of entertainment for all ages. Sand, water, you name it.

DD can stand at the table, but I think she still will put the sand in her mouth, I was debating at getting the sand and water table, but I think I will wait and get her the water table instead. Probably for next summer I will get her the sand table
