I don't really want to buy anything maternity at this point but not sure how to avoid that... If I buy a bigger size in regular clothes, the top doesn't fit right or my back looks like a bus, even if I can get my belly in it.

Any suggestions? I'm about 5'3 and weigh 130 lbs currently.

I'd go to Target and just buy something you like well enough in the maternity section- ie. don't spend much but get a maternity dress. Target has dresses from $10.50-35 on the website.

Ebay would be my other idea. I'd do a maternity dress though. You'll feel better if it fits well.

I was just at target today and I second that recommendation. They had maternity dresses that would probably work for the first few months post partum too. So even if you get maternity, it won't be that much out of pocket at target. They also had several non- maternity styles with empire waists that might work.

Whatever fits. Not trying to be snarky but IMO at 36 weeks you get a pass!!!

If you find a cute Target or consignment dress (read: not big $$ that will get the job done) go with that.

Also, ask around, a friend might have a formal maternity dress to borrow.

I LOVED wearing dresses in my last few weeks of pregnancy at this time of year. . . and I think you could probably find one fairly easily. I second the eBay recommendation if you have time.

But that being said, I also agree that anything you feel comfortable in will be fine!

I wore a dress very similar to the first one pictured from Target to a wedding I attended at 37 weeks. Until the last minute I'd planned on wearing a different dress (that I'd worn to another wedding at about 24 weeks) but the other (dressier) dress was no longer flattering. I agree that in the final weeks you get a pass, but I think any of those Target dresses pictured would be cute anyway.

That's just the thing. Nothing I have fits. I have one maternity dress from my last pregnancy but it's above the knee and I'd rather have my legs covered. I've seen this dress at Target before: http://www.target.com/Liz-Lange-Target-Maternity-Sleeveless/dp/B004CENELW/ref=sc_qi_detaillink
but is it dressy enough?

The wedding is next weekend so I don't really have that much time... I need something B&M, I think.

With the right jewelry, sure. Like pp said, people will give you a big fashion pass. Wear what's comfy and cheap and don't worry!

ITA-- and if it is in the evening or you think it will be cold, you could take a pretty wrap. I think that dress is pretty, and no one will be criticzing your fashion. Have fun!

I got stuck at a very formal wedding at 36 weeks, too. I wore a jersey wrap dress and just added some great jewelry. Honestly, everyone gave me a pass. Most of the women just talked about how exciting it was, and the guys just kept trying to make me sit down.

Consignment shops and Target are your friends!!!

I did go to Target today and was pleasantly surprised that a lot of pieces were marked down. I bought a few to try on at home and I think 2 may work. We'll see...

I emailed a friend about a maternity dress too.

For now, working on my fake tan :)
