Key storage...

What do you use for storing you house, car and other frequqntly sed keys in your household? Looking for ideas and recommendations.

We have a small basket on our entryway table.

We have a small mirror that has a shelf and a few hooks underneath it hanging right by the door to the garage. You can do a quick makeup check and grab your keys on the way out the door. It's high enough the kids can't reach them for things to magically disappear. It's painted white and matches the rest of the trim work.

We have several small plastic baskets in one of our kitchen drawers right by our back entrance. One basket for me, one for DH, and 2 others for misc odds and ends. They are the right size of keys, ipod, wallet, change, etc. but not so big that it turns into a junk drawer mess.

We have a simple key hook from target. We hang ours in the kitchen.

In our pantry, there are sliding drawers with stationary shelves below one. We use that shelf for spare keys and for ipod/cell phone chargers. I kept the outlet that used to be for the washer and had them make it a normal one for stuff like this. LOVE having out of the way charging station/out of the way key storage.

...it's next to the kitchen door so as soon as I walk in, I put my keys on the hook.

We have a key box that hangs by the front door. It looks like a piece of decor but once you open the door, it has a bunch of hooks for keys.

Key hook (three hooks). Works just fine. I wouldn't mind getting one of those key boxes to be even more organized though.

We have a sheet of peg board in the mudroom and a hook on it is for my keys.

Key hook (antique) right next to the door (but cannot be seen from outside) that has all keys for the house and car.
