what to wear to my 20th High School reunion

it's this summer and will be held at a bar/nightclub. It will be in my home state of Hawaii so think casual. I'll probably wear dark jeans and heels but need suggestions on tops. My sister (who had her reunion last year) said to avoid Banana, Ann taylor, and macy's since they have those stores in Hawaii and it would be horrible to find someone wearing the same thing as you are. she said there were 2 girls who were wearing the same dress, and 2 others wearing hte same blouse (nightmare!)

by the way, I'm a shortie -- only 5'1".

I love the colors in the print. I'm not petite, so I'm not sure if that cut works for you (it's one I prefer). I think with dark wash jeans, and heels, it will look dressy but casual. Cute fancy top, dark wash jeans, and kitten heels were my going out uniform pre-kids. :)

And yes, it does suck to wear the same top as someone else at your reunion. It just happened to me. Of course it was someone else I didn't really get a long with - like the fake high-pitched-HIIIII kind of person.

thanks. anthro is a great suggestion. i don't think we have an anthro in Hawaii. there's one at my mall but I never go in there because prices seem steep to me, but for the reunion-- I'm allowing myself a bigger budget. I'll have to go and try some stuff on and see if their clothes fit my frame (I usually wear petite XS at the LOFT).

I'd go with something that highlights your best feature--halter top if you have great arms/shoulders, tasteful v if you have awesome cleavage, etc.

My 20th is this summer so take that for what it's worth, but if ours was at a hotel, I'd wear a cute dress or skirt and top; no pants.

Ours is at a restaurant/bar and I have no idea what to wear. I keep going back to Anthro tops but can't decide on bottoms - jeans seem too casual, but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard.

My brother's reunion last year was at a restaurant/bar and he said a majority of the people wore jeans.

I think wearing a dress would be typical and I don't mind going against the grain. I think the white pants will look classy, pulled together and not like everyone else in a dress. It is very stylish & effortless. Nordstrom personal shopper recommended. Bottom line is it makes me feel great. I found out a few people are wearing sundresses etc so I am gathering that people will just wear what's comfortable for them.
