I bought these trouser jeans (http://www.talbots.com/online/browse/product_details.jsp?id=prdi26047&rootCategory=Petites&_requestid=1447) during Talbot's last sale - they fit great but before I take the tags off I wanted to check if trouser jeans are still in style or were they on sale because they're going out of style? TIA

Those are really nice jeans!
I say if they fit and they're a dark wash, they're the most versatile type of pants out on the market and you got a great deal!
I mean, seriously, how many of us can REALLY rock the tapered-leg pant look? (I tried it in 1989. I looked like a really bad MC Hammer video extra.)

I agree with PP, if they fit well a trouser jean is pretty timeless. It depends on your style too, if you're looking for the latest trend then the trouser jean isn't it but if you want something more classic you've got it.

I agree - if they fit well and they are classic, dark wash, I think it is fine. Honestly, I can't wear much else. The key is to wear what is appropriate for your body type and to get a size that fits.

Yes! But anything that fits you well and looks good is in style too, IMO. :)

Yeah, I think that if you mix it with the right top and shoes, it's fine.

I would definitely wear those if I worked in a conservative envirorment and that was the only way I could wear jeans.
I would not wear them with casual stuff though- it would be another dressy pant for me.

I suspect that if you are shopping at Talbots I the first place your fast runs more to the classic than the trendy. When it comes to jeans there are so many options I think you just go with the cut that is most flattering to your shape.

I agree with pp's, if they fit and flatter well, then go for it! It's a pretty timeless style. Looks good with blouses, IMO.
