I would love to get some new dresses for work. Any ideas? I work in a conservative environment but can get away with bare legs and cute colors in the summer.

TIA!

I'm not sure what your style is, or how bold of a color you like to wear. Some of these are bold prints too.

Title Nine (http://http://www.titlenine.com/product/skorts-skirts-dresses/casual-dresses/160942.do?sortby=ourPicks&page=2)
- saw this in someone else's thread, I think they ordered it and like it. But it may be too casual.

anthropologie (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=20702577&catId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&pushId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=210&color=041&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=CLOTHES-DRESSES-PRINTED&templateType=subCategory)

anthropologie 2 (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=20740791&catId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&pushId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=210&color=009&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=CLOTHES-DRESSES-PRINTED&templateType=subCategory)
- love the barely capped sleeve

anthropologie 3 (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=20076550&catId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&pushId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=210&color=038&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=CLOTHES-DRESSES-PRINTED&templateType=subCategory)
- fun color

anthropologie 4 (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19920651&catId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&pushId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=210&color=041&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=CLOTHES-DRESSES-PRINTED&templateType=subCategory)
- $$$, but has a nice neckline and cool print

Nordstrom (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/trina-turk-clairise-dress/3161666?origin=category&resultback=427)
- cool neckline, more muted and conservative

Nordstrom 2 (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/trina-turk-thema-dress/3165527?origin=category&resultback=5144)
- very bright

Nordstrom 3 (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/calvin-klein-stretch-luxe-asymmetrical-sheath-dress-petite/3133511?origin=category&resultback=6141)
-very cool neckline/cut

Thank you firemama! That Calvin Klein one would be perfect for work! I adore the long anthro one but can't get away with something like that for work. :(

The Nectar Dress from Athleta. LOVE. L.O.V.E. I wear it to work every week. I would wear it every day if I could. I have the printed one that is currently almost sold out:
http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=46838&vid=3&pid=819754

And I have been thinking about getting a solid one:
http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=739120012
Would be very easy to dress up/down.

I do have to tack or safety pin the neckline so it doesn't gape open, but that's no big deal.

love the CK one. I have a number of CK dresses that are conservative, well cut, and with some interesting styling.

That Athleta Nectar dress looks really attractive in the blue/purple print!

Do you mean Jam or midnight? I have so much Navy, I'd prob pick the Jam for a change of pace. It's dark enough that it's like a neutral too.

Oh, I think it's mushroom

arivecchi

Yep! I think that's it. :) I should get midnight right? More slimming?

mackmama

I'd probably go with midnight to be safest. The mushroom color looks pretty on my computer screen but not so pretty on DH's screen.

DrSally

I actually like both. I prefer a super dark navy, and the one in that pic looks more blue. I think the mushroom would look fantastic against tan skin and some gold jewlery?

JCrew goes from casual to bridesmaid pretty fast, but might be worth checking out. And there's 30 percent off everything already on sale.

Arivecci, did you end up ordering the dress? I also work in a conservative environment, and could use something similar. If you need more than one, do check out Calvin Klein dresses. I got mine from Marshall's for ~$60 and love it. It's sleeveless and has a flared skirt, which is perfect for my shape. It's grey, so works great for the office. I also love this MaxMara dress (http://www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/product/Matches-Fashion/womens_maxmara_studio/maxmara-studio-STU-B-TOBRUK-dresses-GREY/49510)but it's not in the budget (even after 30% private sale code) even though it's really nice. Plus I don't need another grey dress for the office.

That's a gorgeous Max Mara! I love that brand. I have not ordered a dress yet because I got two pencil skirts and a shift dress from Boden last week. I will let you know if I do.

the suzi chin dress is beautiful. i think the tan would be great on your coloring, but the midnight is super nice too and will be safer from child accidents.

So I ended up ordering this one in mushroom. It's on back order but hopefully I will get it soon.

I have this one in black and looooove it:

http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens-Dresses/Above-Knee-Dresses/WH253/Womens-Relaxed-Silk-Dress.html

So much so that I ordered it in iris and pewter to see if I like them as much! They are perfect for the summer and can also be worn with tights and a sweater coat in the spring and fall.

I also got this one in bronze:

http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens-Dresses/Knee-Length-Dresses/BH001/Womens-Retro-Shift.html

Very dressy and elegant but not as comfy as the silk dress linked above.

I got all of the Boden ones on sale so they were very reasonable.

HTH someone!
