Our weather is finally warming up and my scruffy legs can't hide under pants any more. We're out of shave gel and I need a new razor. Please recommend your favorites, bonus points if they're free of parabens and fragrance.

Thanks!

Can't help on shave gel...I just use my body wash...but I swear by the Venus razors. I've tried others and they just don't compare. I believe the Venus Embrace is my favorite of their line.

I LOVE Alba Botanica Shave Cream (http://www.amazon.com/Shave-Cream-Mango-Vanilla-Ounces/dp/B00014JO2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306297424&sr=8-1). It smells yummy and works great! I keep meaning to try the coconut lime, but am a creature of habit ;). It says on the bottle to use a thin coat, and this does work better. This is paraben free with botanical fragrance. It probably doesn't get a 'great' rating on skindeep, but it's not terrible.

I use men's razors: Gillette Mach 3 Turbo. I think they work better than women's razors and have probably been using them for 10 + years.

I use the Schick Intuition razor. It has soap built in around the razor. I think its so much easier to use in the shower, and haven't had any issues with it. My dh likes to use it as well!

I like the Intuition razor for travel, but hate that it's next-to-impossible to find it in unscented.

As for a regular razor, the far-and-away best one I've ever used is the 6-blade one from Wegman's (their in-house "TopCare" brand) which I really need to refill. (This one: http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=665083)

I use Kiss My Face shaving lotion because if I use nothing or a shower gel, I get razor burn. This is the kind I use; I do not buy it in bulk:

Huh. See I tried this because it was promoted as just like the Venus and I hated it. My legs were so bumpy afterwards. I really wanted to like it but ended up tossing it after just a few uses...didn't even use the other extra blades.

I like Gillette Mach3. I just use body wash instead of shaving gel.

Gilette Venus razors (I buy whatever blades Costco has cheaper, so usually the 3 blade ones), and Trader Joe's Cream Shave (also sold in other stores as Alba Cream Shave).

Thanks for all of the replies! I ended up trying the Venus razor and Gillette Pure and Sensitive because it was all I found locally. Our Target seemed to have a run on several of the men's razors, so strange. I also picked up the Intuition for travel but haven't tried it yet. This combo is working really well but I'd like to check out the Kiss My Face version next.

Annie--Thanks for mentioning the TJ's/Alba connection. Alba was on my list to try but something in the Trader Joe's version gave me a rash so that's off the list for now :(

For the more delicate areas, I like Nude by Surprise Parties (yes, it's one of THOSE kind of parties). I'm sure you can find it online. No bumps, no ingrown hairs growing back. I use that with the small Noxema bikini line razors.

Although from the other thread it sounds like we all need to try that Magic Powder. LOL!
