DD received a Leap Frog Little Touch Leappad when she was born, four years ago. We never opened it since we had a hand-me-down from my sister. Well, I just found it hidden the toy closet. DH's cousin is having a party for his one year old and I was thinking about regifting. My kids love it but I just realized I don't think Leap Frog makes it anymore. I'm worried it would be hard for the parents to get books and such.

Would you still give this as a gift? If not, what should I do with it?

If you are close with them, then you can give it. Just explain that you got a great deal on it (technically true :)) and that they can buy books and such for it at places like Once Upon a Child (they usually have a bunch!). But, if you aren't that close then I wouldn't and just keep it in your family.

I would not give it. I think you can buy and wrap a smaller gift and then give that to them with the explanation that you got a deal or whatever. But if they try to return it and find out how old it is/that is is not made anymore they might feel very hurt.
