I'm not sure what "short short" means to you. To me it means 3". I usually wear the 5" length.

I love plain front shorts from Jcrew. I personally prefer 3" but that's because I'm only 5'3. They have 5", 7", and bermudas too!

I love the way these fit & feel. Short, but not too short. I had a pair last year & found that I wore that one pair way too often, so I just bought another color last week.

I second the J Crew shorts. They hold up well and last several seasons. I have also gotten some basic flat front shorts from Old Navy, Gap, and Banana. The cheaper shorts tend to wrinkle quickly and fade faster. Or stretch out after a few wears.

Nordstroms also has great Halogen shorts.

I like 7" shorts. I got a bunch of Bermudas from Kohls last year and they don't look good on me. I am tall with small waist and bigger hips. Bermudas actually take away the length of my legs--especially since so many of them are stretch. I have some old LL Bean shorts that I really like because they have wider legs which look good on me. I also love, love, love my Gramicci shorts--just pull on and go. Perfect length and look great. I live in shorts on my non-work days in the summer.

The Target Cargo Merona shorts are awesome, I have not worn shorts in about 10 years and bought these, I love that they have pockets on the back so that underwear doesn't show like on so many of the pocketless shorts.
