For us, it's a pretty low-key weekend around the house... maybe catching up on some yard work, visiting MIL tomorrow, and going up to the cemetery & cabin for part of the day Monday.
How about the rest of you? Any special Memorial Day traditions? :)

Normally, we'd already be set up at our sailing club on a small lake, but it's been so extremely wet that we haven't even been able to rig the boat!

So we'll be rigging and getting things set at the sailing club. Unless granddad falls again, then it's another trip north.

ETA: Well, G'dad is in the hospital and off we go. *sigh*

Going to Animals and Acrobats...it's an early American traveling circus style event for families around here. DD has asked to go to the circus for a long time. This isn't your typical circus so I hope she still enjoys it.

Not too much. Usual weekend chores, pricing items for our yardsale next weekend (hopefully it will be good weather!), and putting up our intex pool. Family coming over on Monday for a small cookout which is our tradition.

I am also sneaking on the computer downloading some free e-books for my new Nook. I plan on sitting in the hammock (my birthday present) and reading.

We went to a flea market this morning (aka junk market) and DH just took DS2 to t-ball. DS1 has cub scouts tomorrow and then we are supposed to go see mil/fil. Not sure if we are going to stay overnight at their place or not. Pretty much we don't have much of anything planned. Yesterday was *supposed* to be the last day of school, but all of next wk are make up days for snow days, so I guess we don't really feel like we are completely free for the summer yet. There's plenty to get done around the house though, so it doesn't really bother me much that we're not doing much of anything. I would like our goal to be cleaning out the garage this wknd, b/c it is a mess and winter boots/toys need to be put away, same with the huge snow blower, etc..

We are working. Hazards of working in the tourism field - we work when everyone else plays. :boogie:

I took DS out to a farm this morning for their annual strawberry festival (u-pick). Tomorrow we have dinner at friends' house and Monday we're going to go to the new spray park that just opened at one of the near by county rec centers.

 Get well soon!

Today is a lazy weekend day--just trying to get some things around the house done. Tomorrow we go up to VT to visit the in-laws for the rest of the weekend.

Traveling to my BFFs wedding. :cheerleader1:

Obviously not a tradition, but should be fun. It's DDs first flight and our first trip with both kiddos. I'm nervous!

we took the kiddos to an aquarium that had a rainforest in it. they both loved it!

no memorial day traditions here. we don't have family in the area plus we don't have a grill so no bbqs for us.

It's a holiday weekend, so it's soccer tournament time! DS1 is playing in five games over three days. It's what we do.

The worst part is that I had to be up this morning earlier than I do during the week. That part was cruel. But they are in second place going into tomorrow's games.

Taking my cousins daughter and her BFF, both 14 and from the south, into NYC for 3 days of sightseeing. Day 1 (yesterday) was the Bronx Zoo. Day 2, today was OMG - Serendipity, Guggenheim, Central Park, Carriage Ride, FAO Schwarz, Tiffany's, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, St Patricks, etc. Tomorrow is a 90 minute harbor cruise, walk across BBridge, WTC site and whatever else!

Monday will be our town parade + picnic + RnR.

Sort of in the same situation but not working. We closed on our house Friday, but its 1.5 blocks from the beach, which is flooded with people, vehicles everywhere along the roads.

Sooo, we can't move until next weekend. Yesterday we went over, I measured all the windows for treatments, closets in detail for extra shelving, made a list, etc. Went to Lowe's where DH was adamant about buying Bona cleaning products for the hardwood floors, he looked forever and didn't get anything. Last night we went by and I cleaned all the windows, he did the floors with a Pledge product he bought. They do look nice.

I looked at shelving, not much. Then DH left the notebook with all my measurements in the cart :banghead:. Plus who knows what other info I had in that notebook, ugh!

Today DH has moved some boxes from our rental over there with our SUV. The boys have watched TV because I feel crappy, and having terrible cramps. They are also flipping their carseats, since they are in the den right now.

He says I can paint the boys room tomorrow, its the only one I've decided on for colors. Of course I want to do some type of striping so I can't get it done in a day! They both love Scooby-Doo so I am going to do the blue and green on the Mystery Machine. Or more like the colors in DS's Keens:

With different shades to do horizontal strips, 2-3 between the top and bottom color. Yeah, I know, bla, bla, bla.

I am potty training the twins. And washing resulting laundry. I'd rather be getting a root canal. :(
