Anyone with any ideas for decorations, paintings, accessories, etc. I have a bedding set that is a blue w/red/white plaid quilt, so bedding is taken care of, but if anyone has any suggestions for decor I would really appreciate it. It can be so hard to find what you are looking for on Etsy.

I wish PBK/LON had a cowboy theme that I could just buy up and be done with it, but no such luck.

Check Hobby Lobby. They (at least used to) have some western things--knick knacks, prints, paintings, etc. and they often run various decor items 50% off. They also have a cute cowboy print fabric there--a retro looking print of boys dressed as cowboys singing, leaning on fences, roasting hot dogs over a fire, etc. It is made by Michael Miller and is called Lil Cowpokes. There is also a coordinating red horseshoe fabric too (and a girl version as well I think).

I also think Nate Berkus showed how to make a frame for a mirror/print out of rope, which might also fit your theme--can probably find the how-to online as well.

Good luck! Sounds like a cute room!

My nephew's room had a cowboy theme and one of the cuter elements they considered was the word "Howdy" spelled out in rope on one of the walls. they also had neat vintage pictures of a native american chief and a mexican cowboy (gaucho?). when T. was a baby they also did some professional photos that had him in a cowboy hat and sherrifs badge-- they had them printed in a sepia tone (the brown/off white instead of black/white) and framed a few in rustic log/twig frames as a grouping. they had cowboy sheets on the bed of course too...and a collection of various/vintagey looking kids play cowboy hats on the wall too (think fifties kids costumes...that sorta hat... i know my brother got most of them new because we found a bunch of different kinds at the city museum in st. louis.) some other decor i remember were cowboy/indian toys and the most adorable little pair of genuine kid cowboy boots.

it's a really cute theme! it seems to come and go in popularity, but t. was in texas ;) and my brother gets his mind set on things. the little cowpoke fabric is super cute and might give you ideas...depending where you live, stores that sell lots of 40s/50s stuff (is that antiques yet?) might have cowboy stuff. good luck!

I just saw this thread and would like to add that Warm Biscuit bedding company has several items for a western themed room. Here is the link: http://warmbiscuit.com/westernroom.html

HTHs.
