bagel hot dog bun

I remember my dad and I eating hot dogs on bagel buns when i was a kid. It was a hot do bun, made out of bagel dough. It was much more chewy then typical hot dog buns, and it had a thicker, shiney crust - think plain bagel.

i have looked for the last two years and haven't been able to find them. Has anyone had them? Know what I am talking about?

I think they're called pretzels buns.

I only know that my local bagel shop makes them. I have never seen the bagel buns available for sale.

I have only seen bagel dogs sold frozen at places like Costco (bagel dog complete with bagel bun and sausage). I have never seen bagel buns (shaped for hot dogs) sold separately.

I'm sure they are available, just ask in bagel shops.
