Post links to cute casual summer dresses.

I am obsessed with this one:

http://www.zappos.com/product/7794457/color/14 (http://www.zappos.com/product/7794457/color/14)

but cannot pull the trigger for that price.

Help me find cool summer dresses!

I just got a title 9 catalog yesterday. Never heard of that brand before. there are some cute things in there. I like this one:

They have other ones too.

I pretty much went the cheap route on my casual summer dresses.
Here's what I ended up with.
This loft one is my favorite.

I really want a long one too but could not find one in those weeks I was really looking. There are so many out now though. I think I need to continue the search. Love the goddess feeling I get when I am wearing a long dress. ;)

Weird those loft links aren't working for some reason.

Definitely watching this thread. I am searching for cute maxis and non-mini dresses -- so many of the cute summer dresses are so short on me! Maybe I'll have to try and rock that leggings look you're sporting :)

All the dresses are really short now. So annoying for those of us without great legs.
Maybe I look silly with the leggings but they look better than my legs.

I've been eying that second Loft one for a while! I love the eggplant color.

I also really like this one, but it's sold out in my size. :( That's what happens when you hesitate...

Thanks. I don't like them though! They do not stay tight on my legs. And they feel cheap for what I paid. I got them at Victoria's Secret. I want to get some more from either American Apparel in the hope of something that will stay put better.

I just got this at Loft yesterday with my $25 savings card. It's my favorite summer dress so far. I can even wear it bra-less with no issues and that alone makes it fabulous, but it's really flattering overall. It's also available in white or aqua solids:

http://www.loft.com/loft/product/LOFT-Apparel/LOFT-Dresses/Sleeveless-Twist-Strap-Dress/262343?colorExplode=false&skuId=89712757&productPageType=fullPriceProducts&defaultColor=9276

I also got the navy and white stripe one from Loft that Elektra posted a picture of herself wearing. Very cute and comfy.

I also bought this last week at Gap at 40% off. I don't normally wear strapless but tried it on anyway and I was surprised by how much I loved it.

http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=13658&vid=1&pid=840785

I think it's time to stop shopping now!! Those are just the dresses I bought. There were also shorts, tops, a swimsuit, sandals.....

Love this dress. I got the blue and really loved the way it fit and felt and for only $20. Then I washed it once and the strap came completely off the dress! When I went to exchange it, they didn't have any more in my size.

I have been eyeing this one too, but I was worried about the whole brastrap issue.
So the fabric is not too sheer? I think this might work for me too. You could really dress it up or down it seems.

It's hard to describe, but it almost feels as if it's got built-in support, but it doesn't really when you look at the inside. It has an inner silky layer on the top that is a bit stretchy that holds you in so you're not bouncing around, but it's not a shelf bra. The top kinda blouses and rests on the waistband is very flattering, to me. It's got a really nice, flowy, drapey feel. The patterned one that I got is definitely not see-through. I didn't try on the white one b/c I was worried it might be, but it would be pretty with a bit of a tan.

I have been eyeing lots of dresses in the Title Nine catalog but notice that they are all stretchy material. How does this drape? I am a pear shape and need something that isn't tight in the seat or I have to swear spanx with it and what's the point of buying what is supposed to be a comfy dress if you have to wear spanx!!!??

Well, I'm a 10 or a 12 depending on the piece of clothing, and I bought a 12 in this and it fits. A 10 would be too small. but I usually have to buy a 12 in things like dresses because I'm bigger on top than I am on bottom because of my boobs.

I just bought this one today from White House Black Market. I also bought this belt to dress it up. I'd describe it as semi-fitted--it has a defined waist, though has looser fabric that drapes above it. It's skimming but not hugging in the chest and over the hips and butt (at least over mine).

Anthropologie is having their huge tag sale. I've picked 5 or 6 dresses there recently. Most of the stuff is sold out online, (or I would link to show you what I got) but you might score some great finds in store.
Right now all sale clothes are an extra 25% off. First cuts are usually 50% off. So if a dress was $158 regular price it would end up being $59.

I have dark hair/skin and it looks better on my skin tone than on the model (IMO). I really needed a casual light-colored dress for summer. They are so hard to find! This is very flattering too.

I also found this one (http://www.target.com/Merona-Collection-Vevette-Dress-White/dp/B004DK7AUQ/ref=br_1_59?ie=UTF8&id=Merona%20Collection%20Vevette%20Dress%20White&node=256143011&searchView=grid5&searchSize=90&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=256143011&sr=1-59&searchRank=pmrank&frombrowse=1&qid=1308008022) online, but never saw it in the store. They only have it in size 14 online.

I like both of these colors too. I like the dress enough, I may purchase it in another color. The red would be pretty for a big 4th of July party we will be attending.

No stores in my area have any colors in a small and online is out of what I want too. :( Wish I'd known about it sooner. Ah well.

No luck but I remembered 2 more ATs I can call. :) One of them is an unbusy mall.

Anybody have the Athleta Nectar dress? (This one: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=46848&vid=2&pid=739120)

I just ordered it (in the "mermaid green" color) for s's & g's and it's on its way, so I'll let y'all know if I like it.

Generally, I feel Athleta's stuff is a bit overpriced, so I haven't placed many orders with them, but it fits me better than Old Navy.

crl has that one so you could PM her if she doesn't see this thread. I think she likes it. I bought an Athleta one the other day, the Kindred one. I'll also post an update. I do think they are $$ for the style but I've been happy with quality.

I just got this dress in the mail and I love it!
http://www.loft.com/loft/product/LOF...aultColor=9276

And I think I can totally pull it off bra-less too. The pattern and the way the fabric drapes hide any of the usual issues I have with not wearing a bra.
Thanks g-mama!

So glad I got the long too. It would have felt too short otherwise.

I do have that one and I like it. It is casual, but nice material and fits me well. Hope you like yours!

Thanks!

I absolutely loved the color and the way the top fit, but the fabric and cut was too snug for my hips, so back it goes. *sigh*

Oooh, just saw this post, elektra! I'm glad to hear you like it, too. Really, I never go braless and there is something magical about this dress that makes it possible, lol. :D

My new Athleta Kindred Cami dress arrived and is cute and comfortable. Just not great support from the built in bra and I need to figure that out. I might be able to go down a size but probably not.

I bought the Athleta Kindred Cami dress as well. It's really cute. I have to warn you though--it's not forgiving of ANY tummy. I don't have that much of a tummy, but what I do have can be seen in this dress unless I'm sucking it in. I ordered a small petite--I wonder if this is would be true in the non-petite sizes. I am thinking of trying a medium petite, but the dress fits really well otherwise (maybe I should just try some sit-ups intead?).

I suck my belly in the whole day and stand up really straight- a good day for practicing posture. :) I wear it all the time b/c it is just so easy to throw on. It'd be great to have a flat belly but I think it still looks ok with a little roundness there. I do wish it had more support in the cami. I knew my girls wouldn't be well supported but I really need to find something I can wear under it, I think. Don't size up. I have a medium petite and I should have bought a small petite. The dress fit isn't what makes my tummy imperfect so I know changing sizes wouldn't help that. I feel like it stretches out a bit at the shoulders though and makes the chest support worse.

Yep, it will definitely be a "suck it in" dress--and a motivator for me to lose the 5-8 lbs. that really should go!
