And no it is not my 14 month old. It is my 7 year old.

Yes, I am sorry your tongue hurts. It hurts because you won't stop rubbing it against your teeth. And the doctor said no more pain meds because then it doesn't hurt and you just rub it more, making it worse.

Stop being such a drama queen and STOP screaming.

Oh no! Was he able to go to sleep?

He screamed himself tired after an hour and a half. Fell sleep. Woke up an hour later. Screamed for another hour and a half. But managed to stop screaming on a dime when he wanted to. So I am feeling quite strongly that while his tongue does hurt, the screaming was totally under his control. The question now is what is the appropriate consequence.
