When did you experience the baby's dropping during your pregnancy? Could the baby's head be felt when OB/Midwife did a dilation check?

Neither totally dropped. Ds1 chilled at -1 or -2 for weeks. With ds2 I opted for no checks so I don't know officially but it never seemed like he dropped, as is common with 2nd babies.

I know DS1 didn't drop. DS2 has already dropped and I'm only 35 weeks. I read somewhere that second time moms typically drop when they are close to labor. ???

With mine it was at about 3 weeks before my due date. I did have an internal check at my due date, and the midwife could feel their head, yes.

I don't know why I'm panicking...I'm just not ready for this baby to arrive!

OB could feel mine @36 weeks. Only internal I did - fingertip dilated.

FWIW - induced @ 40wk 3day due to extremely low amniotic fluid.

Both my girls were really, really low for all of my third trimester. Everytime I would go for a check the OB would comment on how low they were and around 36 weeks they started warning me it could be any day. It made for really uncomfortable checks and they had a heck of a time seeing the nasal bone during the 20 week scan. Other than that it was fine.
DD1 arrived at 38 weeks and DD2 was 40.5 weeks.

Mine has been dropped since my first internal at 36 weeks. Still no dilation. Mine dropped at 36 weeks with my first (or earlier, I wasn't checked earlier) and I was induced at 39.

I carried DS2 really low and so when my OB checked for dilation, she could feel the head.

How long after that did you go into labor?

My midwives just keep saying I'm not going to make it 40 wks. I know that is not a guarantee but now that I'm 60% effaced and -1, I'm starting to wonder how "ready" I should be. Plus she advised I keep my feet up a much as possible until 36 wks, no lifting anything heavy, no exercise and no last minute projects.

Everyone is different of course, but with all 3 of my babies I walked around 5cm. dilated for a full month!, partially effaced and really, really low as well. I was told all 3 times that I would only make it to 37 weeks, and to prepare for a preemie. It was so stressful! And guess what? #1 and #2 were born on their due date, and #3 was a full week late!

I was told by my last midwife that I have a cervix of steel :ROTFLMAO:. She said it was very tough, and thats why my babies held out to the very end, even being dilated for so long.
