I'm thinking about getting a new Verizon phone. I do not want an iPhone and am thrilled with my original Droid but I'd like to get something newer.

I use the camera all the time so want to make sure I don't down grade the quality of the camera... I would think size, camera quality and battery life are the most important aspects for me. (prefer not to have a physical keyboard if it makes the phone bulkier since I don't use the one I have)

So, do you guys have one you recommend? I was considering the Droid X, Droid X2 or the Incredible 2. Are there others I should consider?

In theory - a dual core phone "should" get better battery life - so either a Droid X2, Droid 3 (if you want a kb and don't mind a slightly smaller screen and fatter profile) - or wait on the Droid Bionic or hopefully a Samsung Galaxy S2 in August. Those are the only current and upcoming (soon) dual core phones on VZW that I know of.

Keep in mind - so far 4G phones have proven to be HUGE battery sucking machines. Tbolt, Revolution and Charge.

If you don't mind another month or so wait - do like me and wait on the Samsung Galaxy S2 "Function". It's a wonderful phone and is out everywhere BUT the USA so far. Get's pretty shining reviews mostly and has been outselling the iPhone in most countries.

So, the Incredible 2 is not dual-core? I had been leaning towards that one but for no particular reason really.

I don't really want a keyboard if it makes the phone thicker because I never use mine on my original Droid.

You've got me interested in this Samsung Galaxy S2 "Function" too. I wonder if they will keep pushing the date back or if it really will be available that soon. It never fails that when I set my sights on a phone Verizon delays it and I wait and wait. :rotflmao:

DH loves his Samsung Charge. Doesn't have a separate keyboard but the virtual keyboard has the letters spaced a bit to make typing easier. I think there's an app you can download to help with battery life. He hasn't complained about it.

Bill I'm drooling over the Galaxy S2! It is so thin... I wish I could see it in person to see if it is really that much thinner than say the X2 (which I'm now leaning towards do to the dual core)

4G or not - I'm pretty sure that's my next phone. All signs point to no 4G on it but I don't care.

Thanks, I'll check it out. So, you think this will be out this summer for sure?

Before the end of Summer yes. Probably before the end of August if I had to place a bet.
