View Full Version : Is a spoon of soy milk ok for baby under one y.o.?
9 mo. Old loves a couple of tiny spoonfuls of cheerios from my bowl. I eat it with soy milk.
Is it ok to give him cheerios in a teaspoon of soy milk? I can of course put it in formula instead, but as it is so little, i was wondering?
Thanks for any info!

Younger DD was dairy sensitive, so I actually used soymilk to mix with cereal, etc.

I think the concern is that some people would use soy milk as a substitute for breast milk or formula. I can't imagine a few spoonfuls would be a problem though.

My understanding is that soy, rice, oat milk for DC's under 1 yo are all fine as long as it isn't a replacement for breastmilk or formula. I'm not sure about cow's milk due to the potential for food allergies...and since my DS IS allergic to cow's milk...it was never a consideration. I'm pretty sure that my cousin gave her DS cow's milk occasionally when he was under 1, with no problems. Again, not as a replacement for formula/breastmilk, though.
Ok cool.. It makes sense, thank you!
