Youtube? Vimeo? Flickr? Your own blog?

I'm looking for an easy and private/secure way to share short clips with family. Let me know what you use and why! Thanks.

I have a FLIP camera and they have a site that you can use to share videos. Unfortunately, they are getting rid of the camera and discontinuing ths site in 2013. Majorly bummed about that.

I use Shutterfly Share Site. It's free and password-protected. Security and privacy were also impt to me. Love it. You can set it so people can order pics directly from the site if you want.

I use Vimeo for our videos. I don't like all the clutter with YouTube. I looked into Shutterfly, but can't remember what I didn't like about it.

Are the Flickr and Youtube options password protected or able to make private?

I just started using picasa (google). You can share pics and videos. When you make an online 'album' you can specify that it's private and then invite the people you want to have access to it. They do need a google account, but they don't have to have a gmail address, etc.

We've only been doing it for about a month, but it seems to work pretty well. Another thing I liked about it was that when you give some one access to the album you can say whether they can also upload pics, so for example I gave my DH permission to also add his videos, pics, my dad,but not my grandmothers who wouldn't have any pics to share and might accidentally delete something (but who would love to see everything).

My family is all over the country and so my idea was that anytime I uploaded some new videos or pics they would get an email that said there was something for them to see. So far it seems to be working pretty well , well, except for the part about DH uploading his videos...need to bug him about that :)

My Youtube vids are set to Unlisted, which means anyone with the link can view them. I only give the link to family members. This way they don't need an account.

You can set them to Private, though. That requires an account, I think, and you have a sharing limit (25 or 50 people?).
