I really want to get a bathing suit with a bit of a skirt for when we are at the beach this summer (too many people sharing a bathroom to spend a lot of time...grooming IYKWIM). Is this bathing suit way too grandma? http://www.landsend.com/pp/AlloverControlSlenderGrecianSwimdress~215893_593.h tml?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::BKY&CM_MERCH=IDX_Women-_-Swimsuits-_-SpecialSwimSizes-_-Plussize&origin=index

No way. Too sexy. Old lady to me is a giant patterned suit with much longer skirt.

I think it's kind of old lady. I wouldn't wear it and I just turned 30 last week. I much prefer a tankini top with a swim mini skirt. I have last year's version of this one: http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-398395_AK.html?amp;CM_MERCH=REC-_-FPPP-_-GGT-_-2-_-398395-_-398548

I wouldn't wear it, but I do have the Lands End tankini and swim mini bottom and I love that. Same effect but I think it seems more youthful.

Looks too much like a dress to me..a sexy dress, but a dress. I like the swim minis too.

In general it's NMS but I definitely say wear whatever works for you and makes you comfortable. I think of old lady suits as the big floral print with a longer skirt or the bubble top type, neither of which that suit is.

ehhhh, I'd only wear it if I had a smashing figure, which I don't. Besides, wouldn't it be a pain to take off if you had to go to the bathroom? I'd prefer a tankini and skirt if you want to go that route.

I think it's old lady and I am 41. I much prefer a mini skirt with a tankini, both for looks and for ease of using the bathroom.

Old lady to me, I'm 45 (today! yeah me, not). ITA, tankini and swim mini (I like the mini swim mini from LE).

Happy birthday!

I agree a little old lady. I have the swim skirt and tankini and like it.

The thing is, I already have the tankini with the swim mini and the top is always riding up. I've tried a bigger size and a smaller size, and it just drives me nuts. So I want a one piece with a little skirt...I think I may just be doomed to old-lady-ville if I want that combo:tongue5:

Sorry, I think it looks old ladyish too. How about some swim shorts? I am so sick of skirts, but I still do not like the way I look with a regular swim bottom. I got a pr of swim shorts and I LOVE them! I also am sick of tankini tops, but wanted something with more sun protection and ordered the rash guard from Land's End (I just wear a sports bra underneath), and I feel like it's low maint, practical and looks sporty.

What about this one?

I just got a MK swimsuit from Zappos and love it. The fabric is great. Well made suits. Not as cheap as LE, but a much nicer suit.

I am thinking about getting this suit. Maybe a bit more of a compromise?

I have never really seen anything like that one before. It looks really tight to me like she can't breathe!

How about this one?

I got this the other day, it is soooo flattering on! Great bust support/coverage for me and made my 44 year old boobs look great!

I also wear a skirted bottom and tankini top but this was "swim dress" was super cute and I loved the coverage and the way it fits is super slimming.

The one OP posted is pretty revealing of flaws while being somewhat covered if that makes sense? Maybe it's the solid color?

Get the Athleta swim shorts instead! Lots of coverage!

ehhhh, I'd only wear it if I had a smashing figure, which I don't.
:yeahthat: And if I had a smashing figure, chances are I'd go with a bikine. On a second thought... I do that any way because I get to hot in anything but and my body is not that bad and is not getting better, so got to enjoy what I have.
