I am a hardcore Democrat, but had so much respect for her. She went against her party on issues she truly believed in and was such a class act. She was a smart and honest woman, that spoke her mind and helped so many.

I hadn't heard that she had passed. She seemed like a very thoughtful lady.

She's from our town, we're hoping to pay our respects here. Like the OP, I'm a long time democrat but have a lot of respect for Betty Ford.

Betty Ford was an amazing woman with an amazing legacy. Just think of all the women who probably found their breast cancer in time because she was open and talked about hers. She was truly a game changer.

We grew up in the same town, and she was my aunt's dance teacher. Both of my grandmas knew her socially and had nothing but good things to say about her. She was an amazing woman.
