DD has the Gabe Crocs (http://www.crocs.com/crocs-gabe/10841,default,pd.html?cid=66G&cgid=girls-footwear&srule=price-sort-1-9). Has anyone ever used these (or a similar Croc) as water shoes? I'm not talking swimming, just wading in very shallow ocean (I am totally freaked out by ocean water!).

I think they could work BUT I think she would be annoyed by the sand going in the holes. I would recommend just a cheap pair of slip on water shoes that you can get anywhere (CVS, walmart, etc.)

i use mine for that. yes, the sand goes in, but it also goes out. a good rinse & they're fine again.

My DS1 has the Gabe crocs (in blue) and we've used them as water shoes at water spray parks, kiddie pools, and beaches. They worked fine.
