trying to find the best beach in wilmington north carolina, any .

would love some help with this, also what else is there to do in the wilmington n. c. area?

Fort Fisher has an aquarium that was nice when we visited a few years ago. It is maybe a half hour from Wilmington.

I think there is a kid museum and a train museum too, although I've never been.

There's also the battleship if you want to do that.

Wrightsville Beach is really the only beach in Wilmington & it is nice. There are many other beaches close to Wilmington. Figure 8 Island is a private island & the beach there is very nice but there is nothing else on the island itself...you can rent houses there. Bald Head Island is also in the area... another private island accessible only by Ferry. There are rentals there as well.
