I was 41 when Jack was born

A colleague of mine had a baby last year when she was 43. And he was an oopsie.

Yes, I got pregnant with my son at 38 after my hysteropingiogram, so just work up no treatment. No birth control really between my pregnancies, but was not trying for a couple of years. Got pregnant at 40 after clomid and IUI, but had fetal demise/miscarriage at 12 weeks, that was April. Got pregnant on my own the following September at 41.

I guess the question is, why are you asking? In general it will take more time and have a higher percentage of no live birth over 40's. It is not impossible by any way. So I consider it a problem often of sub-fertility, not infertility. But it's hard to put your life in a limbo after 40 for 5 years while you are trying. And then the question is when do you stop trying. For me I didn't want to have one kid right after another because I felt my fertility diminishing. But I also knew I was only going to try for so long and undergo X number of clomid runs. I was not doing IVF. And after a 2-3 of years I was just going to stop and have my husband get a vasectomy or something. Clearly I have control issues. I was also quite comfortable having only one child.

both of my sisters got pregnant after 40 with relative ease, but neither was able to conceive a second.

I got pregnant with Laurel 2 months before I turned 40, the first month I stopped using BC. A friend of mine had her oops baby (#4) in her early 40s. Very funny because the previous 3 were conceived with much effort.

You can just never tell.

Yes at 40 and with only one fallopian tube, without trying and with very few opportunities for getting pregnant IYKWIM. After so many failed pregnancies, I pretty much consider her a miracle baby or maybe it was the many wishes made at Disney World a few months prior to conception. I guess I highly recommend a trip there. Pixie dust is magical!

I got pregnant at 44 and had DS3 at 45... It took me a lot longer to conceive but it did happen, after about 10 months.

I got pregnant with DS @ 41 & delivered @ 42. This was after 5 years of IF and one m/c @ 37. It was also within a month of getting my TSH below 2 (I have Hashimotos) for the first time in that 5 years.

Yes, baby number three was a 40th birthday present. I guess I'm very fertile, all three were conceived from my 34 to 40 and literally two of three were one time without being careful (not trying to get pregnant) and the other one was knowing we wanted a second baby so she was not a surprise but no real trying involved. Many women in our area are having babies well into their early 40's, I'm not sure what is involved though.
