Hi,
I overheard someone yesterday saying they were paying for a week long hotel stay at a Ritz with Amex points. He explained that every month his wife paid car payments, mortgage, etc. with the credit card, and then the next day just transferred the money via online banking to the credit card.
We don't belong to Amex points (I hate paying to join rewards clubs) but I do have other credit cards that earn points.
I believe I am charged a small fee for paying my mortgage with a credit card, but has anyone ever done "the math" on this type of system to see whether it makes sense?
