Code is SURVEY
3% from Ebates

this is front page on Slickdeals....apparently code for someone who completed a survey so people are saying they think it will get shut down soon.

I got these Uggs for DD + a pair of Pumas to get me to $100.12 and then $50 came off. I had to pay $10 for shipping, but I'm okay with that. The Uggs themselves were $120 originally!

only problem there would be that they wouldn't have your size and you'd get stuck paying for shipping. but customer service is great there, so i'm sure they'd try to locate them all over the place in order to accomodate you.

i think they are big girls, as in i could probably wear them although i'm a 6.5.

I just got a krups rice cooker, an oxo slotted silicone spatula, and some oxo stainless steel chip clips. I signed in to live chat and asked them if they could waive shipping for a rice cooker. She asked if I was using my Bloomingdales card and I said no. She said to place the order and she'd intercept it and waive the shipping. I did, she did...ended up paying $58 for all of that stuff (that we actually needed)! Whoohoo!

I finally got thru to live chat...and just asked if they ever offer free shipping on shoes and at 1st she responded yes on orders over 150 with a bloomingdales card...then she asked if I had placed my order already and if not she offered to remove the shipping charge.

Thanks to the PP for the idea...if you have patience to wait for someone to chat then it seems you will likely be offered free shipping if you ask.

Hey thanks OP! Ok guys, help me shop! DH is always complaining that I have no nice dresses so I want to try to find a dress. I never shop for clothes because he and I always seem to have different tastes in clothes. I like prints and bold colors like black & white & red or jewel tones, but he seems to be more conservative/subdued/classic. I could either get a dress for work, for date night, or a cocktail dress (I sometimes have to go to holiday parties or fundraisers for work, etc.). I never have time to shop IRL and I need advice from some shopping friends. :) Thanks in advance!

Here are a few I liked, tell me what you think:
1. Gorgeous red party dress (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=966688&ID=542393&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=542393&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)--I love love love this one! I think this one is my favorite. Don't know if I can pull it off though--is it too young looking and short/bare? (I'm 38) And it's a bit pricey, but with the discount it's probably doable.
2. Like the color and I have the feeling DH would approve of this one (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=973293&ID=543092&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=543092&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)
3. Pretty plum color (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=982506&ID=548098&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=548098&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)
4. 5. I am a sucker for ruching (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=923824&ID=524242&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=524242&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)

7. Basic black dress (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=552036&ID=391333&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=391333&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)--looks like it would be flattering but kinda boring
8. I like ruffles (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=976448&ID=545765&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=545765&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index) but DH is not a ruffles guy
9. I like the orange (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=976429&ID=542293&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=542293&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index) but not sure why there is a wide hem at the bottom
10. Black maxi dress (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=912685&ID=527223&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=527223&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index)--a bit goth?
11. Beautiful silver color (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=970075&ID=540961&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=540961&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index) but does it look too much like a slip?
12. This space pattern (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=966609&ID=543141&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat16857%20Under%20$250&PseudoProdID=543141&BagDate=07/13/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index) looks cool but it's way short--maybe I can wear it as a tunic with pants/leggings.

:yeahthat: Ha ha ha, exactly...that is why I haven't bought anything for myself except one or two shirts since the kids were born. It is so much easier and more fun to shop for them. And things seem to fit differently post baby even though I am back to pre-baby weight...all my shirts are too short now. I always get anxious about shopping because I worry that I won't be able to find anything that fits right so I just avoid it. Anyways, DH is always bugging me to get something nice for myself and I just got some money for my birthday so I am going to try to spend it on myself for a change. I am not a dress-up type person normally, but the red dress would be fun for holiday parties and special occasions or weddings (like recently I had to go to a work fundraiser gala). And I don't think DH would mind if I wore it out on a date with him ;) I'm going to go see what DH thinks of the dresses now (I think he's done playing his Xbox game).

It looks like the discount invalidates any sale discount! I have this in my cart and the sale price is 82.60 and in my cart it is full price, then the 50 off 100 discount is applied.

OK mum-to-be! I am not a good shopper by any means, but here are a couple of things that caught my eye. (Just searching "sale tops"). I wish there was some way to search by price (ie $50-150 or something). But I guess they don't think Bloomie's shoppers are price-conscious?

Olive cardigan (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=520651&CategoryID=21927)
Blue and white silk tunic (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=529928&CategoryID=21927)
Orange work shirt (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=540322&CategoryID=21928)
Black embroidered tunic (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=534357&CategoryID=21928)
Patterned cargo shirt (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=534022&CategoryID=21928)
Drapey tank (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=531047&CategoryID=21929)
Cross ruffle top (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=527653&CategoryID=21929)
Interesting (but expensive) drawstring top (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=516550&CategoryID=21929)

I talked to DH, as expected he liked the blue Lauren but hated most of the rest...esp. anything with ruffles or ruching. He didn't mind the work dress though surprisingly.

Here's a couple other red dresses he said were OK:
side drape (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=545122&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results)
back ruching (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=545589&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results)

But what am I going to do if it takes away the sale discount? That sucks!

goldenpig
07-13-2011, 04:29 AM
Well it looks like it will apply the discount on sale items (I tried adding just one sale dress to my cart and it worked), but some of the dresses that were previously on sale (like the red petal dress and the work dress) seem to no longer be on sale. Bummer! And the shipping and tax eat up a lot of the $50 discount. Hmm...back to the drawing board.

They are really cute! I am still debating between the black and red hunters. Do I go safe and boring black or fun statementy red? On a rainy day, red might be fun, but I am afraid of looking like a duck with the bright red feet.

I had bright pink boots last year that were Croc's and although cute I wished I had gone with a more subtle aka boring color.

If I get an urge for bright pair again I will go to Target and buy a funky pair for $20.00.

That is weird, my husband just placed an order for me for a pair of Uggs and they told him they would try and remove the shipping charge once the order was placed and once he placed it she went in and removed the shipping charges...such inconsistencies.

I'm not a huge fan of bows, but I do like those shoes. I'd buy them in the pink. I have a pair of pink flats that I thought I wouldn't wear that often, but surprisingly I wear them a lot!

Thanks OP. I got some K-cups, works out to around 40 cents/cup which is not bad considering how much coffee prices have gone up. Live chat wouldn't waive the shipping, I guess they are catching on to us or something.

Update: I called about the shipping and the CS rep reduced it to $5 from $10.

I finally pulled the trigger and got myself some UGGS slippers. They were exactly $100 before the discount, so I am not complaining about $8 shipping. It was hard to do with it being 100 degrees here today, but I knew that in 6 months I would be kicking myself for passing them up on our cold tile in the kitchen and living room (cold because we have a 5 foot tall pier & beam foundation on our first floor).

maybe try again? that happened to me a couple of times when I was adding/removing items. I thought it got shut down! But after a re-try it would sometimes click back on. A couple of times the item I wanted went out of stock (bras - seems like a lot of ppl are using the intimates50 code too) and that made my purchase ineligible.

I got the same code you got when I was mixing and matching baby stuff as possible gifts.

Whoohoo!

I tried to get FS but they told me it was an error on the part of a 3rd party and due to the abuse they will no longer give FS unless you buy $300 or $150 with a Bloomie's card. :(

I talked to DH, as expected he liked the blue Lauren but hated most of the rest...esp. anything with ruffles or ruching. He didn't mind the work dress though surprisingly.

Here's a couple other red dresses he said were OK:
side drape (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=545122&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results)
back ruching (http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=545589&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results)

But what am I going to do if it takes away the sale discount? That sucks!

Yeah, it wasn't a problem to get them to remove the shipping. I was just waiting on the live chat person. Just curious, if you aren't ordering intimates what is the basis for having shipping removed? I didn't feel bad about asking because the order page says free shipping on orders of $50 or more of intimates which I take to mean orders that include at least $50 of intimates.

That's a cute top! What did you end up getting? I ordered the Tahari ASL long sleeve flowered dress. It's one of the more conservative/boring ones I listed, and the sale price disappeared (I think it expired at midnight) so I'm kind of peeved, but I didn't have the guts to go with the flashier dresses. At least this one I can wear for work as well. It ended up being about $65 plus tax & shipping, so about $85 total. I did also order a few different dresses from Bluefly as well, because I am not sure about my sizing (it's been so long since I went clothes shopping/tried on clothes) so I figure hopefully at least one dress will fit and I can return the rest. I didn't bother trying to get free shipping. I wasn't sure why others are getting FS and I don't like to deal with CS reps if I don't have to. I don't know why clothes shopping is such a mental ordeal for me nowadays. All day I've been worried about whether or not the dresses will fit or look good on me and how I'll probably have to return all of them. It doesn't help that DH always second-guesses my fashion choices and hates anything with: prints, ruffles, ruching (he said "it looks wrinkled!"), or empire waists. Which is all the styles I like, and that doesn't leave me a lot else to choose from!

I'm so indecisive that I am still looking. I had to go to bed last night when I last posted - I was confused from too much searching and it bugged me that I couldn't cap the price in my search. After another hour of looking after the kids went to bed, I think I might get these: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=989549&ID=555740&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=&PseudoCat=Cat19212%20Boots&PseudoProdID=555740&BagDate=07/14/2011%20:%20ba-xx-xx-xx.index

I'm going to see if they will give me free shipping on the basis of being unsure of size.

My husband is the same. I think they don't like ruching because they can't clearly see everything. I just showed my husband that top and said it was sold out in my size, and he said, "Good, because I don't like it's sleeves".

Yes, I thought about getting both the charcoal and navy top :)
The sweater cardigan looks nice. I haven't bought one yet like that because DH isn't into ruffles but I think it's a great fall casual look paired with jeans like in the picture. The only question is if that style tends to make you look larger because of all the volume? I'd have to try it on and see. I usually don't wash sweaters (I usually dry clean them) so I'm not sure about the washing.

Calvin Klien Underwear for DH , dont know if bloomingdales prices are inflated on them, but considering he dosen't look for deals on them, I am happy getting something. Also had him pick out some other brands that he wouldn't normally try....

One of the shoes I bought DD is too small and my local Bloomies doesn't carry kids shoes. When I called online they were very helpful. The code is no longer valid. Bloomingdales intended for the code to be used by people on their mailing list who took an on-line survey. Because they used a generic code everyone started using it so they disabled the code. If you did take the survey they emailed you yesterday with a unique one-time code to use instead.
