I love my flip flops in the summer. But I'm starting to have issues in my ankles, probably from the lack of support. These are cheapo ones that probably cost less than $5.

Anyone wear Crocs flip flops? Are they supportive? Or want to recommend supportive flip flops that won't totally give me sticker shock? :p I don't mind paying more as long as I know they'll last for years.

Get some Havaianas. They have a thicker sole and better tread so they will be better than a cheap flip flop.

I love my Merrell and Teva flip flops.

I have older versions of these:

I alos have a pair of Teva slides that I bought this year for running around outside with the kids but I can't find them on-line right now. I got them on clearance so maybe they are not available any more.

I just bought the most comfy flip flops ever. I found them by accident when I was at the walking company store. They are MORE comfy than fit flops and the sketchers fit flops. It feels like I'm walking on a cloud of air, lol.

I used to wear Teva flip flops, but over the years they stopped being supportive enough for my aging body ;). Switched to Fit Flops last year and wore them constantly last summer and this summer, walking everywhere and for long distances on ciity streets, and they're great! They're prob pricier than what you had in mind but worth the $!

Yes to Chacos. Love them, and totally worth the price as they wear like steel. I've seen some good deals on them at Sierra Trading Post...

I have a high arch and can't wear flat shoes for very long. I've tried flipflops from Keen, Columbia, Chaco and they were OK. Then I found Reef flipflops and fell in love! Comfiest ever. And even though they don't look like supportive shoes, they work great for me. I like the Sandy style, but my sister swears by the ones with thinner straps. I didn't like the way the thin strapped ones looked on my feet, so I didn't try them.

I love my sparkly black FitFlops. My feet are too problematic these days to wear the cheapo ones. I also have Merrell ones that are comfy too.

Love Chacos! I can't wear flat flip flops or shoes and now have to spend more money but find them to be worth it!!!

I wore these to an amusement park this week. They were so comfortable! The footbed is super padded and squishy. I was the only one not complaining about my feet!

I had originally wanted Fitflops, but they were way too tight over my instep. These don't go down as far, so didn't give me that problem. I am thinking of getting a back-up pair, since they are now on sale.
