I'm sure I'm not the only one, right? Ugh. Why did I think it would be different this time? I was sick throughout both of my girl pregnancies, though it did get better at some point I don't recall. With DS, it subsided by around 16 weeks. This time, at 14 weeks, the all day nausea shows no signs of departing and I threw up 3x yesterday!

OTOH, I am starting to feel flutters occasionally, which is pretty cool. I also had to pull out the maternity clothes 3 weeks ago, so enough people know that I finally told my boss today. I telecommute, so I actually haven't seen him in over a year in person. I didn't want him accidentally finding out, though, since it's starting to become obvious to everyone I see IRL and some of them talk to my boss on occasion. He was gracious about it and said we can have a discussion about long term plans in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle 3 kids and my current 4 day work week. DH is really supportive of me quitting and doing a few freelance things throughout the year, but I'm nervous about the change.

Mine didn't let up until about 18 weeks the first time and 17 the second time so... hopefully you're nearing the end.

I had it for 5 months with both kiddos. Unisom really helps for nausea.

Yeah, it does. I've actually tried to get off the unisom since I don't feel sick any longer, and I start feeling a little nauseated again (and have insomnia) when I don't take it. My doctor said it's safe to stay on during pregnancy, but I would feel better getting off of it for the last month or so if I could. I'm just doing half a pill at bedtime now.

I've been on and off Zofran for weeks, but it only helps with the vomiting, not the nausea. I managed to leave the Unisom at home and I've been traveling for work for the last 3 weeks. I have a scrip for phenergan as well, but it doesn't seem to help much. Unisom does work better.

I had hyperemesis with DD2, and thankfully this time hasn't been quite that bad.

With DS2 I had morning sickness up until 26 weeks. It was worse than what I had with DS1 (which was pretty bad) and the Unisom/B6 combo helped but didn't get rid of it completely. I would throw up so forcefully that I'd pee my pants (and not just a little)! It would get worse if I went more than 2 hours without eating or if I was in a room that was hotter than 70 degrees (I'm VERY sensitive to heat when pregnant). At 26 weeks my midwives suggested I try drinking dandelion root tea. It's supposed to help support the liver and clear out toxins. My midwife had attended some Mayan midwifery conferance or something and she said they believed that morning sickness after the 1st trimester had to do with the liver not being able to fully function properly. I immediately went out and bought some dandelion root tea at Whole Foods and noticed a HUGE difference in my morning sickness the next day. I continued to drink it daily throughout the rest of my pregnancy. I wish my midwife would have mentioned the tea sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the one I drank-- the Traditional Medicinals brand:

It's definately worth a try and I wish I would have known about it at 14 weeks instead of 26!

I am 33 weeks and still sick. It has gotten a little better. There were days between 6 and 16 weeks where I would go all day without keeping anything down...about 11 hours and then right as it was time to call my doctor/so to the hospital I would be able to eat something. I am taking Zofran when I absolutely have to, but like others have said, it doesn't help with the nausea, just the vomitting and sometimes isn't worth the side effects! (the constipation-ugh!) I hope you start feeling better soon.

This won't make you feel better, but I threw up every day for about 37 weeks with DS. But he was a happy, healthy, chill baby. :)
I know there is medication you can take for the nausea that is approved for pregnancy.

Since this creeped back up to the first page again, I thought I'd give a little update. I'm 20 weeks and still have a lot of nausea, but the vomiting has been much better in the last week. I'm still taking 1/2 a Unisom every night.

It's everything else that's problematic right now. I had my anatomy scan last week and we saw a healthy boy, which is awesome, but they found complete placenta previa pretty much centered over my cervix. There is very little chance it's going to move, though I was going to be having a c-section anyway. It just puts me at much greater risk for bleeding, and as I detailed in the BP last week, means that we had to cancel our trip to WDW and cruise since doc didn't want me to be walking so much at WDW and then on a boat so far from a hospital. I also have placenta accreta, which means the placenta is basically imbedded in the uterine wall and results in severe bleeding if they try to detach it. They've recommended that I have a hysterectomy with my delivery and they don't want to risk me going into labor so the Maternal Fetal Medicine doc is recommending I deliver at 36 weeks after getting steroids for lung development. DS was born at 36w + 4 days with immature lungs and spent 3 weeks in the NICU, so I'm worried about having another NICU baby. I'm already an anxious mess during pregnancy because of my past history, and this isn't doing anything to ease my worries. I will also have lots of monitoring as my pregnancy progresses because the position of my placenta makes it possible that it won't continue to perform as it should and might impact growth.

Congratulations on the healthy boy!

I'm so sorry to hear the placenta news. Sending you prayers! FWIW, I was high risk and under the care of an MFM specialist both times, now I have two healthy girls. Don't give up hope!
