I know many on BBB have bought the HB popsicle maker. I was so tempted to, but trying not to spend the money. I happened to be in the today and they had it on clearance for $10! So I bought it. Just a heads up if anyone else is still looking.

Geez! Sorry!! It's at Walmart. I was trying to help DS eat lunch and apparently got sidetracked while I was typing. I'll edit OP.

ETA: I just checked online and it's still $29.88 there and said limited stock in stores. Not sure if it's all Walmart's or YMMV. You may have to ask if you can't find one. They seem to be in strange places. I found it on a display in front of the photo center and it was in the seasonal stuff before this.

I was just at Walmart last night and was looking at them, but the shelf tag said $29.88. poo, I should have scanned it.

I just got this item last weekend (at the $30 full price) and it is TOTALLY worth $30 IMO. I would buy it again. Its cool (literally and figuratively). :)

Found this for $15 at my Walmart today, so they are still around in some places! Seeing that we're just NOW getting real summer weather, it's perfect timing for us in the NW to have it on clearance. Now we just have to wait until tomorrow...

I just made a special trip to WM to buy this after a :barf: experience with some ice pop molds. I was disappointed to see it marked full price, and was ecstatic when it rang up $15 at the register. Most of the stores here in Houston listed "In Stock".

Totally get the "waiting till tomorrow" issue. This was difficult to explain to the excited kids.

We bought ours a couple of weeks ago, right after I saw this post. I am tempted to buy another one. I paid $15 at Wal Mart in Lakewood, CA.

What juice is everyone using in theirs? I accidently bought calcium added orange juice (concentrate) which I hate (thought I was buying regular concentrate, which is fine) so I really want to try them again.

We all loved them.

Thanks OP. DH just picked one up for me for $15...can't wait to try it! I really wanted the WS one but couldn't justify the price. If anyone has any great recommendations for recipes I would love to hear them!

Just used ours for the first time with frozen strawberries we picked in May from Froberg farms. They were very yummy. The unit worked great but the popsicle to stick ratio is a little lacking. I don't know if the Zoku is any better though. Totally happy for $15.

Just snatched one at $15 at the Walmart in near Monterey, Ca. There were 2 more left near the Garden Center with other ice cream and slushie makers...not in domestics anymore as one clerk had told me.

Not a Walmart shopper, but made a trip to look for one. Online it said there were two in my store. No one knew what or where it was, but I gave the upc number and was told it may be in clearance.

SCORE!

Got it for $15

so, they are still available!

Wondering if it's possible to get more sticks? I think I could make three rounds of pops before refreezing, and there are only 6 sticks. It's a minor flaw, and I'm still thrilled with it! So fun.

Also wondering if the Zoku accessories would be helpful with it?

They were in summer clearance, but with the other summer clearance small kitchen electrics and food prep items (ice cream makers, to-go coffee cups, etc). They were on the 2nd shelf from the bottom so I missed them the first time around.

Has anyone bought it online for $30 and then when they went to pick it up the price was lower? I'm just wondering if I should buy it online and pick it up or if I should go to the store and check the price. If it isn't $15 or less, I don't really want it.

If you have a store near you, it's probably easier to just go check it out. But if you do order it online, when you go to pick it up, you could always return and rebuy if they won't do a price adjustment.

Picked one up last night for $15.00. There was a display of them right by the checkouts and the sign above the shelf said $29.88. I decided to scan just in case and sure enough...scanned for $15.00. I am thrilled, I've had my eye on one of these for months! Ours is in the freezer now and we'll have our pops tomorrow. Thank you!

I'm thinking, yeah I need this - then I'm thinking, no why in the world would I need this - this is something else to store in my kitchen....
Curious - for those that have this? The one review had me thinking --- you freeze it for 24 hours first then have pops in 11 minutes? If so, is it that much better than just the old fashioned ice pop molds? Am I missing something with this trend? TJMaxx has had lots of old fashioned ice pop molds (dinosaurs, stars, designs, plain etc) for about $5/set or just the dixie cup and popsicle stick?

It takes 24 hours to freeze initially, but if you store it in your freezer it will be ready to go whenever you want to make popsicles.

Ok, just checked online & my WM has them in stock. I def want to stop by to get one.
I don't really understand the hype, tho. I read the linked thread- mold in ice pops- nasty! But how exactly is this one better? I wouldn't expect mold on any frozen thing but if it happened I'd suspect I hadn't washed them well & it was growing on the insert before I made the pops. How is this one any better?

i am NOT saying that momofamaya did not find mold in her popsicles but mold cannot grow in the freezer. mold spores already present in food will stay dormant in a freezer until it gets warmer.

i would not have a problem with the hamilton beach popsicle maker and i do not have a problem with any of the tovolo molds either. they should not grow mold in a freezer.

what im saying is that in my opinion, in the matter of mold growth, hamilton beach isnt any better (hb isnt any safer) than the other kinds of popsicle makers.

Well it was a good reason to get another one trick pony into the kitchen.

Though I'll have to disagree with you based on experience only, since the hollow cone sticks were not moldy when they came out of the dishwasher, nor when they were inserted into the juice upside down. They were moldy, however, when they came out of the freezer a month later.

maybe power was lost briefly and came back on?

or you have some mutant strain of mold on your hands there!

i hope you do not feel i am attacking you. its just that mold does not grow in freezers. i ABSOLUTELY believe that your sticks and the popsicle molds and your ingredients were clean and that you did have mold growing a month after you made them. i do not conclude from this that the mold grew because there is anything wrong with the tovolo popsicle maker.

I haven't even had a chance to use my Hamilton Beach FastPop yet, but you guys are missing the point here. Popsicles that come out of the Zoku/Hamilton Beach FastPop aren't any different or better than popsicles made in regular molds, they are simply more fun. They're done fast. Kids can help make the pops and don't have to wait 24 hours to eat them. It would be fun at parties--make your own popsicles, just like decorate your own cupcakes. Heck, I'm an adult and I'm excited by it. So many evenings I have wanted a popsicle--a healthy one--and don't have any in the house. Sure I could make some and have one tomorrow, but I want one tonight. It's not a utilitarian appliance. It's a toy!

Hi ladies,

I was able to grab one for $15 last week. Went home took it out of the box and it was used! So I had to go return it yesterday. When I returned it, the CSR said it was $1!! I said no it was $15 per my receipt and am returning it b/c it was used.

I then asked if there were any left in store and he said the computer shows 3. I couldn't find it and asked the sales associates on the floor (5 of them plus a manager) who had no clue where the clearance summer stuff may be! They said the stuff gets moved around all the time and they can't keep track. Oh well, I've never had luck with Walmart :(

I hope you ladies can get a price adjustment or something. It's $1. Congrats to all those who were able to snag one :)
