S/O: Soft Serve or "hard" ice cream?

Regular/hard all the way!

Soft serve doesn't come in all they yummy flavors and have all the yummy extras that hard ice-cream does.

Definitely regular ice cream. Soft serve is missing that rich, creamy mouth feel, which is probably why it's generally much healthier for you!

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the only other vote so far! I voted other just because I have no preference for one over the other. I'll eat either with equal enjoyment! :)

I think I like both equally, so I checked other. I just LOVE ice cream.

I prefer hard b/c you can get all the goodies it it (I like lots of mix-in's), but I like when I see SS offered b/c it's a lot less likely to be peanut contaminated (just a liquid mix) for DS. Also, it does tend to have less fat/fewer cals.

Love soft serve, but it seems to be primarily an East Coast thing. Its harder to find on the West Coast. And now places like Cold Stone are all over and they only have hard. Hard just seems too cold for me. A Dairy Queen blizzard gets you all the mix-ins in soft serve, btw.

I've been in search of good soft serve custard for a few weeks now.

I grew up on DQ, so to me, nothing is better than a DQ cone dipped in chocolate. Mmmmmm......

But I never met an ice cream I didn't like. ;)

I know, oh how I know. We can't touch that place w/a 10 foot pole b/c of all the peanuts all over the place there. I will go occassionally when I'm by myself. I like their pecan cluster blizzard. I do find it to be overly sweet though. I also really liked Grater's turtle sundae when I lived in the Graeter's area. Now, I like an occassional Culver's turtle sundae or the cookie dough mix in they have.

My latest favorite is the Skinny Cow brand. I really like the mint or PB ice cream sandwiches, but I have a hard time only having one. (I don't think I've ever only had one at a time.)

I think I really prefer "ice milk" or Chick Fil A's Ice Dream over either. But...since ice milk's not readily available any more, I always have hard ice cream in the fridge. Darn DH, helping a neighbor, it's 9pm. Who is going to bring me a scoop?

I like both. A simple vanilla soft serve on a cone is just so satisfying, even if we go to a place that has regular ice cream, sometimes I'll just get the simple vanilla soft serve on a cone (this always shocks my DH, he considers soft serve more like kiddie food). However, I will take regular ice cream too, it just depends on my mood.

Hard ice cream for me. The harder the better, as I can't stand melted, soft ice cream. I am weird in that I don't like hot fudge bc it makes ice cream a melted, gooey mess. I like my ice cream fully frozen!
