Ok, so I went with the first dress:

Mostly because I feel pretty in it, partly because my grandmother likes it better, and partly because I discovered that my mother was wearing an almost identical dress to the other one... and didn't think there was anything wrong with the two of us dressing "alike" for this party (Who wants to dress like their mother for a family party?! But that is a topic for the BP...).

I'm thinking one of these two pairs of shoes. It's Zappos, so I'll likely just order both and return one. :)

Shoe #1:

Shoe #2:

Or if you know of a pair of gorgeous, drooltastic black shoes out there that are less than $150, I'd love to see 'em!

Gorgeous dress! I like the second pair of shoes, I tend to lean more toward simple, classic styles. The first pair were cute, but the giant flower ruins the look for me. You will get much more mileage out of the second pair, very classic & sexy!

Another vote for shoe #2; the flower on #1 is distracting from the beautiful pattern on the dress. Simple shoe, for sure.

I vote #2 as well. I avoid shoes that have the strap around the ankle (like the first pair) because the strap visually breaks up the legs and makes them look stumpy. At least for me/my legs I've found that to be true....that may not be an issue for you.

I vote for #2 for the same reasons as PP. I love the dress - very pretty!

#2 for sure.

Another vote for #2. I wore those (in gold) for my wedding a few years ago and loved it! Got lots of compliments too! ;)

Hmmm. It's Zappos, so just order both and see. I think the flower is cute, but it might be too distracting, but you'd really have to see them on to tell. I also agree that the ankle strap could be an issue. It took me forever to figure out that's why I didn't like how certain shoes looked on me.

Love the dress, too!

Ok... I'm hearing you on the more simple, less decorative... but what about these:

Oooh, better flower than the original pair #1 I think, less distraction potential. What color? Black matches the the details on the dress, but that pink just might work. You'd have to see if it worked with both the dress color and your skin tone, but it could be really cute, I think.

I clicked the link and I quote "you are not allowed to see this item" popped up on my iPhone screen. Do you think it knows I've spent too much time/money this week? ;)

:ROTFLMAO:

@Jent - I would do black. Although I do like the pink. :) What's throwing me there is the 3 3/4" heel. GAH! But they are horribly sexy...

Personally, I prefer a higher heel for your dress, but I understand wanting to be more comfortable. gl!

I like the Lord & Taylor pair, but I think the simplicity of pair 2 works better with the lines of the dress. I can see the L&T pair with a longer dress with a slit up the side, like this one (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/adrianna-papell-crystal-brooch-ruched-jersey-gown/3176469?origin=category&resultback=608).

I love #1! They make a statement. I own #2 though so maybe I am just tired of them.
