What is the difference between the two? Just wondering..

I don't know if this is true, but I think of a tunic being more fitted, and a kaftan as being looser. I'd wear a tunic and leggings for date night, I'd wear a kaftan to the beach. (That's all in my head, I don't know if it's the actual definition).

I always think of kaftans as full length tunics.

kaftans are like polynesian muumuus! think barbra streisand in "meet the fockers." tunics can be dressed up and more youthful/trendy.

I thought muumuus were "Polynesian muumuus"? :) I'm so confused.

I think OPs confusion may stem from Boden, because they have a "Tunics/Kaftans" section, and they seem pretty interchangeable..

Yep. They look the same to me.

I always think of kaftans as very loose fitting and made only of either thin cotton or linen, whereas a tunic can be fitted, more form hugging and made from other materials.
