Has anybody been to Grenada?

Opinions? Looking at a 4-6 night getaway in August for our anniversary/"we survived the twins' first year" celebration. ;)

No, but Grenada was initially my first choice for a celebratory "DH got tenure" trip to the Carribean this summer. It would have been with our whole family, but airfare was kind of expensive and, other than one very expensive place, I couldn't find hotels with a kid club, although that wouldn't be an issue for you. I get the impression that Grenada does not have large resorts, but medium-sized hotels where you can add on a meal plan or not.

I read a nice trip report from a couple who spent there honeymoon in Grenada, and it was quite detailed about the many hiking and sightseeing things they did. It was probably on Fodor's or tripadvisor, and I'll try to hunt it up for you. eta: I'm not finding it, sorry! But I did find this post about different ways to fly to Grenada which might help you (thru NYC, thru Puerto Rico, thru Miami, thru Barbados, thru Trinidad, etc.)

We ended up going to the Dominican Republic and booked through Luxury Link, which offered great service and prices. There are no Grenada properties right now on Luxury Link (the selections change a little, but not much from what I've observed), but they have an offshoot called Family Getaway that has a couple Grenada offerings:
